It was the same thing with VIZ's InuYasha Blu-ray releases. I didn't notice the color issues (or frame rate issue) until it was mentioned on here.

Not quite as bad as the ugly blue tint on Pokemon Heroes but still a weird issue.

I think I always noticed the colors were off, notably purples and yellows, but assumed that it was done intentionally by the artists. It wasn't until I actually watched some duels subtitled on YouTube that I realized the colors looked normal again. Also worth noting; you'll still find the coloring issue with officially subtitled episodes on Crunchyroll, further proving that this is ultimately an issue with the masters 4Kids and Konami were given.

Oh yeah, should also share that Episode 23 has similar but different coloring issues. But unlike Season 2, this issue was likely done by 4Kids themselves as it even affected their edits. Top is the correct coloring from Episode 22, bottom is the wrong coloring taken from Epsode 23's recap.













Now these differences are even harder to tell apart than with Season 2, which is they don't bother me nearly as much, but they're there nonetheless. Joey's green jacket is a tad brighter, Yugi's spike outline looks almost magenta, even the backs of the cards look closer to chesnut.

I first noticed this issue when I bought the Cinedigm release of Season 1, assumed this was yet another mistake on their end, and actually tracked down the original 4Kids DVD volume for it only to find it there too. As far as I'm aware, this is the only episode in Season 1 to have this problem. Not nearly as bad as Season 2, but figured I should share it here since I'm discussing color issues anyway. And that concludes all of the episodes I'm currently aware of with problems.

Based on the info ifoedit gave me for the first disc I'm going to have to say yes. It only showed as Region 1 enabled.

I was watching Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens on Disney XD on Friday and when they showed a commercial for the Disney XD version of Shark Week I ended up saying Oof out loud followed by a facepalm.

I still plan on watching the series on Disney XD but I just feel like it’s a little inappropriate to advertise that during Yu-Gi-Oh! with Kazuo aka Kazuki‘s death.

Been picking up the DVDs of Yu-Gi-Oh! Classic and watching them since Kazuki passed away. This was my favorite show back in the day and the nostalgia now is through the roof. Thank you, Kazuki Takahashi, for creating this wonderful franchise!


I wish we could get 4K Media to release the full english score for the series and the movies, at least as a set of MP3s. Got to hand it to whoever composed for the dub, this music is so hype!
