Don't want a repeat of what we've seen from Yamato 2199.
Too late for den-noh coil as it's been completely de-listed. You'll be able to find cheap copies on ebay for a while though. It's not a big seller (hence the $4 clearance) so you may be able to get it for less than 20 (after people have received their $4 copies and listed them)
Lodoss war is out of stock, so there's no guarantee you'll get it, but on the last day of the sale it should be the mega deal price again.
Nichijou you'll need to buy it from a 3rd party

Just going by what is no longer sold by Amazon itself (only available from 3rd parties) you can pretty much predict what Essentials are likely to be OOP.

Alderamin
Shimoneta
Rosario + Vampire (OOS at RS)
Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches
World Break Aria
Orange (though the non-Essential version is still available)
First Love Monster (OOS at RS)
Taboo Tattoo (OOS at RS)
Joker game
Space Patrol Luluco
Morose Mononokean
Regalia Three Stars (OOS at RS)
Three Leaves Three Colors
Cheer Boys!!
Samurai Warriors
Pandora in the Crimson Shell (non Essential version still available)
Gangsta
Haruchika
Luck and Logic (non Essential version still available)
We Without Wings
Starmyu
Scrapped Princess
Rampo Kitan (OOS at RS)
Ninja Slayer
Bikini Warriors
Castle Town Dandelion

So I could go on but you get the picture, the above were the Essentials listed at RS from oldest to newest (the above covered the first 2 of 10 pages the last Essentials title was released in May of this year) and anything still in stock at Amazon is a "limited time deal" and only down to a few copies.

So my advice would be if you want something from the Essentials get it while you can as this appears to be the end. Of course it could always come back in another form (would they really let this many series go OOP?) but who knows?

As an addendum here are the titles OOS at RS (in addition to those already listed)

Sankarea
Gonna be the Twin-tail
Terror in Resonance
Witchblade
Kabeneri of the Iron Fortress
Chaos Child
Shomin Sample
Juni Taisen Zodiac War
Clockwork Planet
Tsugumomo
Endride
Unbreakable Machine doll
Code Realize
King's Game
Aria the Scarlet Ammo
Black Blood Brothers
Ben-to
Michiko and Hatchin
Senran Kagura
Eureka Seven AO
Hinamatsuri
Chain Chronicle
New Game

So you might want to start looking for those before they are listed officially as OOP (if they indeed are again I am just speculating)

I was thinking the same thing lol. No surprise they aren't worth keeping in print aside from a few titles there.

The majority of what people have not heard of is the stuff I found better then the stuff people have. I’m a bit strange though. That was the nice thing about the budget lines. You could go in at $10 to $20. At least you were not out a whole lot if it did not fit your taste. I know streaming means you can sample before you buy but at the prices it made me take a chance on quite a few shows I’d have otherwise never bothered even streaming. Some were free shipping or sale deals filler. Plus way easier recommending something for that price to someone. Definitely a shame to see them go.

Seems more then a few ecchi series are going. It’s a shame to me at least. Not everyones cup of tea but some of them have amazing animation. Might just be a jiggle or a bounce but when it’s done right…

As others have said, most of those titles are lesser-known, which means they are more likely to become streaming-only. If you want any of them for your collection then buy them this month. It just wouldn't make much sense to re-release many of these unless they've got a new budget line in the works (no digital copy this time?) and even then they'd probably dump the lower selling ones and add new (old) anime.

Thanks for the heads up I'll probably get the regular UK edition instead of buying Essentials from a third party US seller.

Lodoss War is good. If nothing else it's worth grabbing at the mega deal sale price (when it comes back at the end of the sale) for the animation alone but I think the content itself is fine albeit nothing groundbreaking.

Edit: Apparently it's out of stock now? Bummer.

You’ll be eating those words once Crunchyroll stops releasing every new series on disc and only the ones that generate numbers via streaming.

Saw it coming, and say it over here more than once.

CR was always anti physical media, with them grabbing what funi would get.. it could only get worse.

As someone that dislikes most of the mainstream series(west wise) I thank sentai for keeping some series of genres I like alive on physical media, here's hoping they manage to increasingly license more.

Most of them I have heard of, and many of them I have either seen some of or all of them. I own only one of those on disc though. Like I watched Rosario + Vampire through 3 parts on YouTube in 2009 and have owned it on DVD since Christmas 2011, and rebought it on Blu-ray in February 2019 through the original release (non-Essentials). Still need to get around to rewatching it, I've not seen it in almost 14 years... Shame it wasn't faithful to the manga which was far superior. The manga had quite the shift from it being a harem with plenty of fanservice to being much darker and having less fanservice.

I have no interest in owning Shimoneta (I hate even remembering that show or typing its name), World Break, Space Patrol Luluco, Gangsta., Haruchika, Rampo Kitan, Ninja Slayer, Bikini Warriors, nor Castle Town Dandelion. Pandora in the Ghost Shell Urn may be a pass, though it is slightly related to Ghost in the Shell, same creator as Gits actually, that would be like one of the only reasons I'd want it.

We, Without Wings, watched that back as it aired (I feel old...), I'd rather own the Limited Edition release despite the pixelization issues the cover had.

Mostly old anime that doesn't sell anymore, waste of money to keep the license to have them stay in print. And they were also on discounted funimation labels cause they didn't sell well or on their last leg. It's great when anime goes out of print, I can sell some of my collection that I don't want anymore at a much higher price. Given that this is an expensive hobby to be in.

That's probably one of the more likely ones, but it's the same answer for all of them: don't take the chance. They are under no obligation to ever print any more discs. Grab what you want *this* holiday season.

I didn't have Twin-Tails in my collection so I spent 5 minutes searching and bought a copy on ebay. No reason to wait. If you want something buy it asap.

For anyone who does want them, from the above lists of stuff already gone from Right Stuff it seems the Crunchyroll Store (which was the Funi store) still has a lot of them (though some do say only X copies left) and you can get free shipping over $50 plus a coupon CRSTORE gives you 15% off, so they are @$19 (just get the essentials version as the reg version is the same price for some but the coupon won't work on it). Only other option would be RACS where they are $22 and you can get free shipping (over $99) or 10% off but not both.

Also a couple still in stock and on sale at Amazon.

Chaos;Head is part of the whole Steins;Gate world, Tusgumomo is a decent ecchi (borderline call the FBI) series, First Love Monster is a comedy that I thought was pretty funny, Taboo Tattoo is a fan servicey shoot em up.(though pretty meh)

Food wars season 1 is not available on rightstuf, but sentai has it available on backorder for $12. This might be the last chance to get it cheap. If enough people place orders they will do another run (if they don't already have more coming) to fulfill the backorders. If rightstuf isn't getting any more then neither would Amazon or any other retailers, so they would just sell through their stock and be done.
