Default HBO Series Discussion

This is a thread dedicated to discussing all things HBO, including mini-series and any future series. Also, announcements for HBO series on blu-ray can be made here. In the poll for future blu-ray release, please take into account not only which one you'd like, but also which would benefit most from the blu treatment. Also, only series that made it through more than one season were chosen for the poll, aside from Boardwalk Empire which is a new series.

So what's your favorite series/mini-series?

Mine:

Band of Brothers
Pacific
Deadwood
The Wire

Note: Voting for more than one series is allowed.

I've only seen Band of Brothers.

So my favorite is Band of Brothers.

One of the best things I've ever watched, ever.

That's one of the ones I chose as well. Voting for more than one series was allowed.

My favorite is Band of Brothers and I am currently watching The Pacific. I really enjoyed Carnivale and voted for that series. Just wished they did a "wrap up" movie instead of just ending the series like they did.

I will definitely not argue that Band of Brothers wasn't a great show but The Wire was such a underrated show that deserved better recognition.

My vote is for "The Sopranos," in regards to wanting complete Blu-ray series next.

My favorite is "Band of Brothers" followed by "The Pacific."

I was so happy when they released Deadwood on blu, but I can't understand why they're releasing Sopranos so scarcely and stingily.

I have been wondering the same thing. If they did release it, it would be one expensive set, in my opinion. lol I am looking forward to watching "Deadwood." B&N shipped it today.

Was that a documentary? I know about Hard Knocks, but haven't had a chance to watch it.

its currently on now.. weds. at 10, i believe this is the 2nd to last episode.. it basically is the same thing Hard Knocks is but for hockey, Hard Knocks follows preseason, 24/7 follows up to the winter classic out door game played on Jan. 1st.. I guess its sorta like a documentary its 4-5 episodes..

That's what I've been thinking! I would pay $180-$200 for it. BTW, Deadwood is absolutely glorious on blu! Love everything down to the packaging.

I'm not a huge hockey fan, to be honest. I'm from Texas. But now that you've mentioned it, I have seen Hard Knocks before.

I voted for Flight of the Conchords cause that show was awesome. I would have voted for Eastbound and Down had it been an option. Thought it was weaksauce that they only released season 1 on DVD.

To the mod that moved this thread to the "wishlist" section: could you please move it back to the "movies" section? It is sorta both I can see, but I created with the intention of discussing HBO series. I would very much appreciate that, thank you.

Just because the thread contains a poll isn't justification for moving it to less active section in the forum. I repeat that this is a discussion for all things HBO.

Boardwalk Empire is likely the next HBO on Blu and I never watched the others so I didn't vote. I would love to get "From the Earth to the Moon" on Blu however, HBO should get on that. I'm going to start watching The Wire soon though.

And yeah, since this is a discussion it should be moved back.
