Well, I still have my iFi iCan Pro, JDS Labs Atom, Littledot MkIII and Littledot 1+ amps to try with it, so should be able to find something for every can.... I hope!

So far, the RME ADI-2 DAC is an absolute beast, no regrets purchasing this awesome little piece of equipment. Once I figured out the controls, this thing has been pure magic.

I think the iFi micro iTube2 preamp/buffer will be my next piece of gear, mainly for the Estat rig. Any of you have direct experience with one?

I'm sure (both of you) have probably watched it, but I did another episode!
I hope you enjoy.

Couldn't say no... I just couldn't!

Guy posted on reddit, here and looks good enough to take a risk on. Been communicating back and forth for a few days and just made payment. He'll be installing STAX cable per my request... and cups were just printed... I decided on yellow...because why not.

He will put a pro plug on it? Does it cost extra? Can these be powered by the iFi iESL?

Using a STAX SRE-725 extension cable...which adds the cost of the cable ($100) but will be absolutely worth it to have full STAX cable with connector. He even has a separate version of the cups for using STAX cable, designed to fit the flat ribbon cable better. He can do a STAX compatible connector only for around $15.

The iFi iESL should have no issue powering it, the headphone is rated for a 500V to 700V bias voltage, so STAX PRO bias (580V) would work fine.

So I had a $120 estat energizer come in today...

And sounds GREAT! Nice full body and low end presence with the Gustard X20U DAC and Schiit Loki driving it. Not the tightness, cleaness or finese of the RME ADI-2, but nice smooth, organic feel to the sound that is absolutely rich sounding. The ESP95X energizer will be for the L300 I'm selling, figure it will sell better as a starter system with 'amp'.

How's everyone been lately?
For me, I've been very busy with work, and "life" stuff. I recently acquired the Eddie Current ZDT Jr., but haven't had time to sit down with it yet.
I've been hopping around Korea, working long hours, taking many certification courses, and now I'll be gone all this weekend for a Comic Con.
Next weekend I head out to Hong Kong... after that, maybe I'll have time(?) to enjoy music.
Then again, with the summer weather, my room is 32C (about 90 degrees fahrenheit), and I keep using a dehumidifer each day to suck out the humidity...
Not ideal for pleasant listening, nor for filming YouTube clips.

Anyhoo... I guess all three or four of us are pretty satisfied with our stuff this past month.

I've been busy working on my FR-S to get it ready to sell...going to Cars and Coffee this weekend with it and have a for sale sign in it and then start listing it online. Finally made the custom center-exit exhaust for it I sketched around 5 years ago for it:

My brother welded it, I did the cutting and all other fabrication. Short video clip of it:

Exhaust is louder than I was expecting, sounds just about right with my Etymotic ER20XS ear plugs in though. I went ahead and just ordered the 2 stage quiet muffler to replace the race muffler.

Read your reply in your video humor voice... LOL

But yeah, creating something, whatever it is, just feels so satisfying.

Just got an e-mail last night from the guy who's custom makes his electrostatic headphones that he got in the STAX cable. He said he should have it wired up, headphone tested/checked out, and ready for shipping by Monday...So should have it by the end of next week, probably. The guy has been ecstatic about making it and keeping me up to date on it. Very appreciative of someone who takes this approach and would like to think he does this for everyone he makes his headphones for.

Yep, pretty satisfied with my set up here, too. Actually have sold off lots of stuff, so all that's left is my iCan and iESL Pro, RME ADI-2 DAC and my Little Dot Mk III for my main rig, along with the energizer that came with the Koss 95x cans.
Also still have my mini desktop rig, the JDS Atom amp with the Khadas Tone Board, sounds amazing for $200.

Still way too many headphones, as usual.

What’s going on fellas? Looks like we’re all in the same boat, complacent in what we have. The Aeolus, Klipsch HP3 Heritage, Ori and Clears have me very satisfied. I really like my Amp/DAC combo along with the gaggle of tubes I have make everything endgame for me at least.

The new estats came in yesterday, were missbehaving and had to be slapped around...LITERALLY...to get sound to be correct. But all is good now... they sound right and I'm getting acquainted with them.

Also sold the STAX L300 yesterday and shipped it out today... still have the L300 Limited...that is going NOWHERE, one of my favorites!
