USA The Three Stooges Ultimate Collection

I'm so glad I didn't get the single releases. I can't wait to add this to my collection

Quote:
Sony's newly-announced The Three Stooges Ultimate Collection 20-disc DVD box set (due 6/5 - SRP $95.99 but just $89.99 on Amazon) will include all 190 shorts plus 3 full DVDs of previously unreleased content including "28 never-before-released short films starring Stooges actors Shemp Howard, Joe Besser, and Joe DeRita, as well as the feature length films Have Rocket, Will Travel and Rockin' in the Rockies available for the first time on DVD." You'll also get a trio of animated Stooges shorts including Bon Bon Parade, Merry Mutineers and Hollywood Detour.

That would be nice. Hopefully one day we'll see the Stooges in HD

I purchased my DVD set today from Best Buy for only $44.99. That is a great deal for such a collection!

Amazon.com only price-matched them yesterday. I don't care, because my friend owed me money, so I made him get this instead of cash. Imagine what that bonus disc set might be worth since it's NOT going to be released separately!

I am sorta miffed that they have no release date for the extra discs for those of us who already picked up the individual sets....

Hopefully for you this isn't true, but I've seen reviewers from Amazon contact Sony on this issue. Apparently there are no plans to release that set of extras separately any time soon

Sony said on their Facebook page a while back that they planned to release the extras on their own as "Volume 9" later in the year.

I got vol. 1 for free and have been planning for a long time to buy the remaining volumes. Thankfully I never did and now I'm the proud owner of this big set instead.

Just so some of you know, there have been reports of people calling Sony and asking if the supplemental material will be released on its own, and Sony have said no. You can try calling them as well if you wish, but it looks like they want you to buy the Stooges set, at least for now.

Anyway, I love this set. For $44.99, I'm stoked I got this much classic material. This truly belongs in every collection!

Didn't care for the new film. I would love to have this set in my collection though.

Anyone have this set? How is it packaged? Is it exactly like it is in the above pic, in the sets that were already released?

Yes, the sets are exactly the same as they were as single releases.
