Wow, I just watched the first episode of Super Dimension Century Orguss 02 and was really impressed. The setting and story were very captivating and I loved the art style. I'm not familiar with the franchise at all. I see Discotek released the first series, do you think there's any chance they might release 02 as well?

I can't believe I have the complete City hunter TV series out on magnificent bluray!

I hope Discotek will share some news soon about any other CH Bluray releases like any of the OVA/movies or the upcoming film.

Same here. They did a magnificent job with the first TV show, so here's hoping they pick up the rights to the OVA sequel-series too, here.

The sound comic extra is pretty cool for scryed.

I noticed they included a lot of music soundtracks on the third disc would it have required a different license to include them on a cd rather then a bd?

Know this is out of nowhere, but considering semi-recent events, I take it that Discotek is at least (hopefully) considering dubbing anime with a different studio than Sound Candence? Rarely do you commission new dubs, but it would at least be a good idea.

A third of Memories was done at NYAV. Case Closed and Lupin III are dubbed at Epcar Entertainment or Bang Zoom, but I believe TMS funds those dubs.

Discotek likely sticks with Sound Cadence because they're familiar and cheap. Texas dubbing tends to be the cheapest you can get outside of Singapore, and Sound Cadence is the only independent dubbing studio in Texas, other than Kocha Sound, as far as I'm aware. Going with a studio in California is likely just too expensive out side of very small roles, like ⅓ of a movie.

There's also Chris Sabat's Okatron 5000 and its LA satellite studio, Okatron 5000 West. They mostly work on the Dragon Ball franchise, but they also do plenty of video games like the Borderlands series.

What’s the the difference between west and the regular studio?

I know TMS funded the Bang Zoom dubs. The Epcar Studios ones (I know Blood Seal of the Mermaid was one of them) were commissioned by Discotek.

West is located in Burbank, California while the regular one is in Plano, Texas. As you can imagine the West studio is for the actors located in California. It’s the same as like how NYAV Post is in New York and California.
