Isnít there also a deleted scene where classic Cage performances are staged Caligari style?

The music video for Rainbow's "Can't Let You Go" is done like Caligari.

There's no mention of English subtitles on the back cover:

After the copyright notice you can skip to the main menu. So, no real region lock.

The back cover has a BFI logo, so maybe a BFI UHD with English intertitles is forthcoming?

Nope. The BFI was one of the archives providing material for the restoration.

It does offer something over the Eureka, even if subtle.

Moot to me though, since this doesn't appear to be English-friendly.

Not worth it, looks awful.
Pixelated compression with artifacts, milky contrast / gamma is too bright.
No HDR, worse and brighter than the UK Blu-ray.
This classic masterpiece deserves better.
The music tracks aren't good either, they should have used one of the Giuseppe Becce reconstructions (the one from the 1999 french DVD or the 2001 NDR CD recording).
Maybe there will be another and far better release abroad, sad...

I think you must be getting mixed up with the German BD which is a mess. There are 3 images in that shared comparison. First is MoC, click and you get German BD, click again and you get 4K where you can see a subtle refinement of grain and detail.

The MoC still looks plenty fine though.

You've seen the UHD release?

Shadows and dark areas aren’t better defined, a smudged pixel-mess.
