For my redbox anniversary (account), they gave me five 50-cents off movie rentals.

Redbox is selling the WW84 Blu-ray for $7. Just waiting for it to drop to $4.

Picked up 'WW84' and 'Iron Mask' for $9-something total, because I hate myself, apparently.

Got a nice little haul from a few local Redbox kiosks today! I saw they were having flash sale, so I decided to scope a few things out online and then buy them at the kiosks in hopes that the extra $2 would still apply. Thankfully, it did.

Here's what I got!

$3.99

$2.99

$1.99

I was particularly excited that I was able to grab Freaky for just $1.99. Honestly though, everything in this haul was so well-priced that I'm excited for all of them.

^thanks for the heads up. Went to Redbox and picked up a few batches. The $2 off the second disc thing worked every time. Weird thing was, at the first kiosk I went to, Freaky was ringing at $5.99, so I had to make a trip to another store to grab that one.

Picked up:

Fatale - $3.99
Greenland - $1.99

Antebellum - $3.99
Chick Fight - $1.99

Freaky - $3.99
Come Away - $1.99

Some solid deals here for folks who don't case about getting the case and cover art. I stopped buying at RB some time ago (and that won't change now), but it's good to see the RB is still viable and chugging on.

Also want to say thanks about the $2 dollar off mention. Picked up FREAKY and UNHINGED for just over $6. Print a cover, throw it in a spare case, and shelf ready!

Universal and Lionsgate have come a long way in terms of providing retail discs to redbox (IIRC, Freaky had the cover listed as rental with the nice red lettering, but it had all of the retail features). I couldn't test the sound setup on those two but they had the options for advanced sound. Plus they had all of the special features and commentary.

Years ago with Universal it was a crapshoot to even get special features.

I was suddenly relieved looking at UNHINGED and seeing the Dolby Atmos logo. On my way back to the car I remember years ago Lionsgate only provided lossy Dolby Digital tracks on their rentals. Phew!

It really is better these days.

I'd be curious to know how much, or even if, the studios make on a sale of a redbox disc. Especially the discs (usually DVDs) that have the back again tag, like when they bring back the first two Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and Bogus Journey discs before the third hit DVD/Blu. Even discs that had a good run at redbox like The Equalizer - often there will be new reviews and comments on Equalizer 1 near the time of the release of Equalizer 2.
