Yeah Icedburden made a thread about it in here somewhere. Sad day. I spun some CG yesterday and today to pay homage.

Been playing Sacred 2 the last couple of days. NPCs keep talking about a Blind Guardian concert and I swear in one of the cities Hansi was singing inside one of the buildings.

This thread is so much better than the hip-hop thread. Fighting words! I'm totally kidding, though. Good times.

I take it you don't like thrash metal????...No, Metallica does not count, unless you are referring to their first FOUR albums. The Black album was not Metallica...It was that demon Bob Rock

The music was good, don't get me wrong.

The Sword opened first, then Down. Everybody liked The Sword, but were anxious for Metallica, and didn't really give a shit about Down. They played for about a hour, and nobody in the crowd really did anything. No cheering, or anything.

Phil proceeded to tell everybody to "get up off your ****ing asses" and the like. It was quite entertaining.

He also said good things about Dimebag Darrel.

It was a good show musically though, but they were kind of screwed over by opening for Metallica.

I'm not huge on Slayer anymore myself. Absolutely love their 80s stuff and Devine Intervention ... but having seen them so many times, they have grown somewhat stale.

As for my favorite cds so far this year.... well my favorite is from a smaller hardcore band called Reign Supreme. cd is "Testing The Limits of Infinity".

but as for metal albums, i'd say either August Burns Red "Constellations" (comes out next week) or Behemoth "Evangellion" (streets in August).

Yes, I am a pirate at times haha. I buy this stuff too though!

My favs so far this year would be Bloodbath, Kreator, and Absu. I have yet to hear the new Candlemass, Devin Townsend, November's Doom, or Amorphis. I'm sure I'm forgetting a thousand others.

I've heard a few tunes from Lazarus A.D. thought they were good.

I'd like to see Amon Amarth again. I've only seen them twice. Once with Children of Bodom and Gojira. After that show in Milwaukee WI, the guys from Amon Amarth were hanging out in the parking lot drinking beers and eating pizza with the fans lol
