I have the Bubble Bobble song in my head(don't know why!) and I think it would be great to have it on the PS3, with local and online Co-op. Taito has some other great arcade games too(I used to have their collections on PS2). Right now I have Mortal Kombat II and Gauntlet II and we need more games like that.

Black Tiger by Capcom is may all time favorite, I actaully bought BOTH a PS2 and PSP so I could play my favorite game again on the Capcom compliations. I also bought the Taito, Atari, Sega Genesis, Namco, etc. compliations, lotsa great games on each little disc! I was actually gonna buy the original arcade cabinet of Black Tiger until I found it on the collections for the two consoles! I'm very old school when it comes to arcade games, for the most part, I can't stand the games of today!

I'm old school too, I had all compilations on PS2, Midway's Arcade Greatest Hits on PS1, and for some reasons sold them all, except both Capcom ones(because I love BLACK TIGER!!!!! too).

Cool to hear that there are some Black Tiger fans besides me on this site! It would have been cool if Capcom would have added "Black Dragon" as well, it's the Japanese version of Black Tiger, it's the same game layout but with stronger baddies and bosses, plus the weapons cost more and there are more rocks that drop doen during the game. Could you imagine how good Black Tiger would look and sound if Capcom upgraded it with P3 graphics?!

It would be cool if this becomes a kind of official Classic Arcade Games thread with screenshots of games we would like to see on PSN.

I'm not sure I want it re-done with updated graphics, after the TMNT re-shelled fiasco.

You're right, I like the old 87' classic the way it is, I still enjoy at least a game weekly! I've never been able to do this trick though (watch this video of the so-called "boss rush"!)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zd6JYTXXTyU Black Tiger rules!

Yep! another great game that is similar to Black Tiger was Rastan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvn2pPsaE4Iby Taito. I really like that one as well. Got it on the PS2 and PSP Taito compliations as well.

I'm pretty sure I have beaten this game, and you're right, we can't do the trick on the PS2 version of Black Tiger, I just tried, but it doesn't matter, no need to rush!

Some screenshots of TMNT: Turtles in Time. The real deal, not the crappy version Ubisoft made.

My favorite arcade games were Rastan and Black Tiger. I also loved Shadow of the Beast on the Amiga, which was a bit similar. I actually did have a Rastan cabinet until it died (it was a JAMMA cabinet, meaning you could swap out the PCB with other JAMMA compatible games).

I enjoy the retro game collections that were released for the PS2 and the PSP, especially the Capcom and Taito compliations (natch). The Konami shooter collections for PSP are very good, although the Salamander (a.k.a. Life Force), Parodius and Twinbee (a.k.a. Stinger) collections for PSP are only available in Japan (good thing the PSP is region-free for games). Retro gaming seems to be bigger over there -- they have a lot more classic game collections.

Another side scroller that I always played a lot was Ghosts 'n Goblins, but once you get to a certain point the game becomes almost impossible.

Ghosts 'n Goblins has to be one of the most difficult Arcade game ever. I couldn't get through the first level with the regular PS3 controller, but with this Arcade stick controller, I've been able to get to the final level but got stuck somewhere, tried for an hour but failed. But even if you reach the final Boss, you are transported back to the start and you have to beat the game a 2nd time to fight him.

With Final Fight and Magic Sword, we'll be getting some different graphics modes: Original or HD smoothing, both can be viewed in a standard 4:3 or with a border done to look like a filthy old arcade cabinet.

That's a step in the right direction, give us the choice! Thank you Capcom! Now I just hope Black Tiger will be in the next wave!

This looks pretty cool, but would be better with a 4:3 monitor.
