United Kingdom Daft Punk

Is there seriously no Daft Punk thread? I've used the (awful) search function but have found nothing!

The new album "Random Access Memories" is coming out this year, who's looking forward to it?

The snippet I've heard sounds like it should belong on the Discovery album!

What are peoples thoughts?

Can't wait. Love Daft Punk. It's been a while. I heard Nile Rodgers from Chic will be helping on this album.

Is there any news of a Daft Punk album being remastered for blu-ray? I hate vinyl because of all the clicks and pops, but blu-ray would be perfect!

btw, is BD-A dead?

Huge fan of Daft Punk and for that matter, the bleed-over group Phoenix!
Can't wait to see what anthems they come up with next.

My personal favorite music group of all time.

My brother showed me Alive 2007 when I was 10 and it blew my mind.

Can't wait for Random Access Memories, I have a feeling it is going to be crazy.

Have you played new vinyl? I have Discovery on it and its perfect but the old stuff I have certainly has the sound but those are the really old stuff.

Besides Discovery I bought Madonna Ray of Light remixes and The Police certifiable on vinyl new and they sound great! the old releases are cheaper and easier to find

I want to see them so bad. Their live albums are exceptional, couldn't imagine how great they would sound when you are actually there.

looking foreword to the R.A.M album, I more of a rock/metal listener but Daft Punk is the only techno band I can enjoy, I have both Discovery & Human After All.

My first real listen was the Tron soundtrack. Went and did some digging and am quite impressed with their sound.

What did everyone think of the album. I loved it. It's not the normal Daft Punk sound but what a refreshing/retro-feel type listen it is.

Me and a few friends listened to it earlier this week and a few of us thought that it was quite mellow. After the first track (Give Life Back to Music) finished, which is the best track on the record IMO, it gradually got "lighter" in tone. I must give the album a second listening as I was slightly tipsy when listening to it the first time.

Fantastic album. Sadly it will be lost on most people that don't have a decent set of headphones or good stereo gear. It is so sonically deep and is a great reference audio album. MP3 compression and earbuds are no way to listen to this record. The vinyl showed up today from Amazon and I'm headed out at lunch to grab the CD.

This is definitely their best album production wise (not including the TRON: Legacy score). Human Afterall was great, and their first two albums are classics, but I feel that RAM is their best work yet. It really is funny how it takes two robots/androids/programs to bring soul back to electronic based music.

Have you heard the 24-Bit/88kHz digital files? They sound amazing. Apparently they have the same master as the CD, which is all together a different master used for the vinyl, but I doubt it. Oftentimes, the HD lossless files are sourced from the same master as the vinyl, especially for new releases.

I got the HD 24 Bit tracks yesterday and I had to make some copies for my iPod at 24Bit/48kHz (Apple Lossless). I still have the originals, obviously.
