Default Music Thoughts

I was thinking a thread like this may be useful. We can voice our thoughts on any musical thoughts, with no bearing on our various genres. We can b**ch or praise, it doesn't matter. Not for bashing, just our thoughts on different stuff regarding music of any type.

My thought is: I heard a promo on an FM station that I listen to and it was on the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards. I find it odd to have a promo for an award show on a rock station but the show has no rock awards. MTV hasn't recognized rock music for quite some time.
I haven't watched the VMA's for quite a few years, but Katy Perry is hosting. Also, the Vanguard Award is going to P!nk, who I love. I may watch or skim the show only because of those two alone.

^^^ I love what you say here in your signature space!

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. One musical thought that I have actually ties into what has been addressed in the news these days concerning those who want to see historical acknowledgements be completely done away with in either one way or another. If their feelings for those in music history are no different, they can bite me.

I used to think symphonic metal was the perfect blend--all the beauty of opera and symphony with the power of metal. A lot of it is quite potent and cathartic, but it's lost its charm with me over the years--latest albums by my favorite acts didn't really wow me.

I seem to be swinging more towards industrial metal as my favorite jam these days. Even the older stuff sounds like music of the future.

I miss the old Coldplay.

Y'know... Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to the Head, and X&Y Coldplay.

I always felt the music they made during that time were genuine. It wasn't until probably Viva la Vida where they started to lean towards a generic, manufactured sound (Violet Hill and the title track were probably exceptions).

My thoughts are that I'm deeply saddened. I hope he's around for many more years, would hate to lose another of the great ones, & a personal musical hero of mine, I love the guy. I had a feeling in my gut that something could be wrong with him & unfortunately my gut was right. Hopefully he'll be ok.

Buckethead is one of the greatest guitarists ever. I hope he's going to be OK. He's been putting out a lot of releases in the past few years.

Kayla Riley is the most boring DJ that Sirius has.
It sucks that she is on Octane and Turbo, the two stations that I listen to the most.
I wish they'd put her somewhere else. Fulltime.

The 50s & 60s had the BEST LOVE SONGS!

1950s:
- Diana
- Donna
- Earth Angel
- Put Your Head On My Shoulders
- Tears On My Pillow
- etc......

1960s:
- Be My Baby
- Hey Paula
- I Love How You Love Me
- Unchained Melody
- Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow
- etc.......

There are a lot more songs than what I have listed.

There are only two kinds of key changes. The triumphant , and the desperate.
