Question What type of music do you most often listen to?

Most often... I listen to Nightwish, Evanescence, Disturbed, Tech N9ne and Synthwave.

Then you have bands like Rammstein, In Extremo, Skillet, Creed, Cradle of Filth, etc, these are bands I listen to as well sometimes.

I don't know how I would describe my taste in music. I seem to go to gothic-metal type music the most. Synthwave is another amazing genre, it is electronic music influenced by 1980's movie soundtracks and video games, including bands like Dynatron and Power Glove.

Gothic-metal and Synthwave just sound amazing, which probably explains why I listen to them most often. I recently discovered a band called Nightingale, they have a song called Nightfall Overture that is awesome.

Rock, country and rap are not something I particularly like, but there are exceptions. Like I described, the music I listen to is full of metal bands. What type of music do you most often listen to?

Mostly punk and some metal (and various subgenres like grindcore, powerviolence, etc.). Recently I've gotten more into post-punk and goth.

I listen to just about everything. I have no interest in "Gangsta Rap" or most music that doesn't have clean vocals.

An example:

Last weekend I watched a Beth Hart concert.
Last night I watched some of a Johnny Winter concert.
This weekend I'll finish the above concert and watch a David Gilmour concert.
Michael Monroe's Greatest Hits: Disc One is in my car right now.
Kelsea Ballerini was in my car last week.

There's such a variety of music out there that I try to listen to as much of it as I can...and it's all bought and paid for!!

When I was younger, I was a huge fan of alternative and techno music.

Recently, I have been listening to mainstream pop music.

I listen to Halsey’s Bad at Love everyday when I’m driving to and from work.
Also, Meghan Trainor songs.

I'm pretty diverse. I'll try almost anything (minus new country, new rap, new pop). I enjoy classic rock, metal, pop rock from the 50's through the 90's, I like trying different genres, although I tried to get into Death Metal so hard, but I really can't get past the vocals. Industrial can be all right (Fear Factory), Country from the 50's through the 80's. Under-produced fringe metal bands from the early 80's doesn't do it for me. I've enjoyed some punk, ska, classical & even some Reggae. My go to is between classic rock & metal.

Lot of metal, hard rock, punk/hardcore, classic rock, blues, bit of reggae and hip-hop (only oldschool, all this new mumbly autotuned crap can go straight to hell) and random trip-hop/electronica/experimental noise/whatever. Basically the only thing I really dislike is mainstream pop and the aforementioned modern hoodrat nonsense.

  1. Downtempo (I tend to group other things like trip-hop, ambient, and nu-jazz in this category as well)
  2. Rock (especially hard rock, britpop, alternative, grunge, retrowave, new wave, but I've been listening to more classic and psychedelic rock these days).
  3. Metal (especially industrial, progressive, nu-metal, and symphonic)
  4. Electronica (including techno, breakbeat, dupstep, club music, dance, trance, electro-swing, and anything else noisy)
  5. Orchestral (mostly score music from games, movies, shows)
  6. Pop (not as much as I used to though--will gravitate more towards dance and R&B)
  7. Jazz (not a diehard fan or anything, but there are some particular albums and artists I listen to regularly)
  8. Rap (same as with jazz)
  9. Funk and soul (always liked certain songs, but never really have this genre much mind until recently. Started picking up more and it's been really groovy).
Will give anything else a try, but I never could connect with country and opera. Ethnic, folk, new age, classical music, oldies, and disco all vary for me.

Classics, at least 25 years old. Some are cheesy but feel more honest than today's music. Though I'm not criticising as I also enjoy new stuff.

Never got into Metal or Punk. Other than that my taste in music is actually pretty diverse.

I listen mainly to country, soft rock, and contemporary Christian music - primarily from the '80s and '90s. But one of my fave country bands is Rascal Flatts, which has been going since 2000 - I have all their CDs. My other fave artists include Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Skillet, Darius Rucker, Randy Travis, Backstreet Boys, and Michael Jackson. I also like music from the "oldies" era, but I don't have any dedicated albums about that. I never cared much for heavy metal, alternative, or rap.
