I have/collect ost cd's of my favourite cult movies.

I sold all but a handful of my cd collection a couple of years ago. Just stick them.on YouTube or something now. But nostalgia always plucks away at me so I might want to get some of my favourite cds back at some point.

I still exclusively buy a ridiculous amount of cd's/boxsets, only stream via my phone/Spotify if I'm in the car and looking to sample something I'm interested in but want to make sure i will like the bulk of. I'm not a subscriber w/ Spotify either so the little bit i may stream is very limited in what and how much i can check out. As much as I once loved vinyl as a teen/20 something, when CD's became the standard I just never felt the need to go back to vinyl and i never listen to any of the few LPS I have (most came with super deluxe box sets).

I've only ever used YouTube. Never got into buying CDs honestly. I'm not big into music either though.

Never stream... always buy. I prefer CDs but I buy from iTunes sometimes as well.

Discogs is a great site for purchasing CDs. Also love taking a trip down to Newbury Comics and buying a bunch of CDs for $5 a piece.

I was looking around amazon.com today and their search engine for music sucks. Either it shows out of print items or if they have it is only offered as an import so who knows what you will end up getting. I was looking for Pink Floyd's Obscured By Clouds but what comes up first for CD is some import from a third party seller. I had to click on the digital option which then showed a button next to it for the actual version I wanted. Same thing with some recent Iron Maiden remasters. Congrats amazon, you killed off every other music retailer and now you can't even make buying things easy.

I buy digital exclusively. If my Macbook had a disc drive, I'd still be buying CD's. Streaming is a massive no no for me.

Just got into streaming. I've been buying cds since 1992. Just over it. so much more convenient. Less stuff collecting dust in my bedroom.

I only ever buy something digitally when it's not being released on CD. Which happened to me...once, I think. No, twice. One E.P. And one bonus track. But I love physical media. I love my big library of movies, CDs and games. Heck, if that stuff collects dust that's OK. If it ain't that stuff then something else will collect dust. Besides I'm old fashioned and see owning physical media as a way of preserving media.

I use YouTube. I've probably purchased under 5 CDs in my entire life. Not big enough into music to care about the overall sound quality.

I prefer physical media - but I've been noticing the genre of music I like - dance electronic dj mixes to be streaming-only

Yes, I still collect music CD's sometimes. I grew up with the format, so I guess nostalgia has a lot to do with this. I still haven't gone digital yet, though do sometimes stream music.

In any case, I'm glad CD's are still being made/produced; so, it's obvious that there is still a market for these - even if it's niche. Though the dedicated brick & mortar stores that sell used/new CD's (that I used to go to) have all but disappeared in my area in the past 5-7 years, you can still find new CD's sold at some stores like Wal-mart, Big Lots, etc. In fact, over the summer I picked up:

The Razor's Edge - AC/DC (1990): Very solid album, without any bad songs. Stand-out tracks include: Thunderstruck, The Razor's Edge; Money Talks; Mistress for Christmas; and others. Great stuff here.

Tidal - Fiona Apple (1996): Excellent album; I definitely find Apple's sultry vocals/songs to be far superior to many of the more well known '90's songstresses of the era. Stand-out tracks from this album include: Criminal, Shadowboxer, Slow Like Honey, First Taste, and Pale September (among others).

I usually stream unless I really love an album and want the artwork and better sound quality. Some artist are absent on Spotify too so I'll buy the disc if that's the case or if it's rare.

I actually don't stream music, if I want to listen to a song I don't own I'll just let the video play on YouTube lol I still buy CDs, and rarely buy digital music (and only if it's high quality, no iTunes crap) just there's not as many bands or singers around these days that I actually still care enough about. Last album I bought was a Switchfoot album in January, next one will be in January again when Gabrielle Aplin's new album comes out.

Streaming anything to me is just perpetual renting. Not something I'd want to do with music.

I've finally started streaming. It just makes sense at this point with the amount of music I listen to. I still buy vinyl of certain artists that I want to support (Sturgill Simpson, Shooter Jennings, etc), but I doubt I'll ever go back to buying music again on CD's.

That said, I do miss it. I like having physical media and my IPod was a cherished possession. Things change.

I still remember ripping CDs with Windows Media Player back in 2002, I think it only ripped them in .wav files and they were so huge .

If I rip them now I'm so swept up in nostalgia that I use a cassette deck skin for my media player to listen to them. I wouldn't go back to cassette tapes to save my life but the theme sure brings the 90s back.

BandCamp is my preference. I buy the album and download/store as ALAC. If the artist does not support BandCamp, I will buy the CD and rip it myself. I have boxes and boxes of CDs under the basement stairs.

The music is accessed via AirPlay from an old Mac Mini in the basement to a multi-zone audio system around my house and property (9 zones)
