A new Manchester, England band, Ist Ist, released their debut album, Architecture, today. If you're into good old Joy Division-esque gloom and doom post-punk, then check out these songs from the album...

I'm so out of the loop with new music, had no idea that Greg had a new album, love me some Afghan Whigs.

In no particular order...

-Wire: Mind Hive
-The Vapors: Together
-Pearl Jam: Gigaton
-Damien Jurado: What's New, Tomboy?
-Fiona Apple: Fetch The Bolt Cutters
-Soccer Mommy: Color Theory
-Dramarama: Color TV
-Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist: Alfredo

Not gonna lie; I've kinda been slacking with checking out newer releases as of late, especially since I've been furloughed from the music store I work at due to the current situation. Luckily, glancing at this thread has given me a heads up on some releases I should check out (namely, the new X, Ist Ist and Greg Dulli; plus, there's a new Bob Mould coming out, which I'm certainly looking forward to).

Haven't listened to the new Greg Dulli or Ist Ist yet, as I said I would in my last post. Enjoying the hell out of the new Hum album that just dropped, though...

What are everyone's 2020 faves from classic rock and metal legacy bands? (I realize I may be a week too early for this question)

The only Physical I like is by Olivia Newton John. As for my favorites for this year, I've only got three on the list. It would be four, but one of them doesn't count since it never got an official release in stores (CD and Vinyl). Here are mine:

1. Fiona Apple - Fetch the Bolt Cutters
2. Rufus Wainwright - Unfollow the Rules
3. Moses Sunny - Grae

I've still got to hear the 50th anniversary release of Workingman's Dead by the Grateful Dead and Folklore by Taylor Swift so things may change. I thought I would throw up before I ever talked about Taylor Swift in a top five of the year category. Much less buy her new album. But she's really done a 180 and gone Indie/College Rock on us. Who knew she had it in her?

The only album I listened to that could fit this bill is Ozzy Osbourne's Ordinary Man. There are a few good standout tracks, but I wouldn't call it a must-buy either.

Agreed. It's been a few months since I've heard it, but i remember the Post Malone tracks being particularly awful.

they are both great. Just know that you can only get the Lamental EP in Japan, if you want a physical copy. I got it though and it was 100% worth it. This guy has yet to disappoint me.

very eclectic variance of music genres there ! nice ... I'm trying to get some ideas for the current B2G1 Target sale and I'm definitely going to add the Hugh Masekela 'Rejoice' album.

I'm not that eclectic these days it seems. However, I used to be a bit more so back in the day when the college rock/120 minutes scene was in full swing. That era of music had such a wide range of styles and genres. I just found out that Tom Petty had a song on the Modern Rock Charts. Such a wide range of artists at that time. Artists like Suzanne Vega and Tracy Chapman were on the charts and I'm not sure they're entirely of that vein. But that's what makes that era of music so great. Anyone and everyone was there.
