https://www.cnbc.com/2019/05/06/game...episode-4.html Eagle-eyed viewers of Sunday’s episode noticed a Starbucks cup on a table by Emilia Clarke’s character as she shared a scene with Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and the Winterfell crew. It prompted a huge reaction on Twitter, leading the show to acknowledge the error — with humor — by Monday afternoon. “Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea,” they joked. Bernie Caulfield, an executive producer on the show, also addressed the error in an interview with WNYC radio on Monday. In addition to an “I’m sorry,” she joked that “Westeros was the first place to actually, you know, have Starbucks.” She also quipped, “If that’s the worst thing they’re finding, then we’re in good shape.” But here’s how it played out: Twitter sleuths were quickly on the case to verify that the “Starbucks cup gaffe was real.” Some fans were really upset about the mix-up, calling it “unprofessional” and accusing the production team of having “senioritis” in the HBO show’s last season. |
