Looking forward to picking it up so I can toss my old copies in the trash (and crosses fingers they finish it this time). Now I just need a Maison Ikkoku re-release (preferably in hardcover) that fixes the way the characters address each other. You can do it, Viz!

Urusei Yatsura is my favorite anime series. I'm not nearly as crazy about the manga, but I'll still try to pick it up, and give it a read-through; I couldn't make it all the way through the Ranma or Inuyasha manga though, so I don't know if I can read all of this either.
Maison Ikkoku and One Pound Gospel are my favorite Takahashi manga, but I generally prefer the anime adaptations of her work to the original manga. |

Yeah, as much as I love the MI anime, it still disappoints me in certain ways compared to Takahashi's original manga. I felt certain scenes just fell flat because they tweaked Kyoko's reactions, not to mention them cutting out Nikaido.

So is this new UY manga going to be flipped again, or proper format? |

I received Volume 2 in the mail today, probably gonna start it in a day or two. Volume 1 was a pleasant surprise for me back in February. I blind bought the first volume after seeing a few episodes of the anime. I laughed a handful of times and really like Lum.
I can't see myself sticking with the series to the end though, I feel like it may get old before long. |

This is awesome though I prefer the anime more but I'll buy it once I found a physical copy.

It will be roughly 15 volumes. The books are twice the size of the first Japanese run (34 volumes).

Barnes and Noble is running their 2 for 1 manga sale through Jan 20th. I always recommend buying online and picking up in store. Their online prices are often discounted (full retail in store) but you can still avoid shipping damage or easily pick out a nice copy by picking it up in store.

^I'm going to wait until RightStuf's sale is over because I guess they did a manga bundle (that I of course now missed out on) with the first four volumes. In previous years RightStuf has brought back some of their sale items at the end so I'll wait and see, and if not I'll take you up on that advice. Thanks again!
