Default "Couch to 4k" sneakers and app advice?

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best app for C24K? This will be my first time trying something like this because I'm now unemployed for who knows how long.

Would also love some recommendations for some lower priced good jogging sneakers ($40-80).

Thank you!

I would say just find some $40- Asics or Sauconys online that fit. You should try to get the Run with Hal app. It costs $ but it will keep track of your training and motivate you to run. Just have to figure out how to tell it how much you run and how much you want to run. I'd still be using it myself but I prefer to just use Hal Higdon's free plans and adjust them as needed.

But will it train someone that's relatively out of shape? I've been a yo-yo exerciser my entire life, but never extremely productive. I want something positive to come out of this whole thing and if I could get even slightly in better shape, I'd love that. And it would help with the anxiety of it all as well.

I just can't be stuck in my apartment for weeks and weeks on end.

Yeah he has training programs for beginners and base training programs. Have to imagine his app will train "yo-yo" people like yourself. I mean I was training myself to run 10ks and (I think) one of his 18 week marathon plans had me ready for my first 26.2 mile race in 12 weeks. Just give it a try, the man did finish 111 marathons and he's probably the most popular online running coach around.

Thank you very much for your help. I really appreciate it.

If anyone else has any suggestions, I'm definitely open to them.
