Has Anime Ltd. said anything about a "standard edition" of DRRR shou, ten and ketsu?

They usually only put out standard editions once the collector's ones go out-of-print (except for films, which are usually day and date with each other).

Eromanga Sensei Part 1 (covering episodes 1-6) has been rated 15 uncut for "strong sex references, sexualised nudity".

Kizumonogatari III: Reiketsu was also rated recently, given an 18 for "strong bloody violence".

The only title left to be rated now is Fate/Apocrypha Part 1 and then it'll be a matter of moments for MVM to reveal the Q4 2019 slate.

Heartbreaking. A studio whom I love and a studio which helped my tastes progress when I was younger and getting more and more into anime. Just donated to their gofundme. Those poor people..

That's really awful, I feel terrible for those affected. They are a great studio and that kind of slice of life/school days anime is my favourite as well

Regarding the KyoAni attack, it is horrible and I give my condolences to the studio and its families affected. It's currently one of the deadliest mass murders in Japanese history since WWII which is even more heartbreaking.

Also, I understand that many people want to find out more information about the attack, but please try to avoid social media as much as possible on any updates. There's been a lot of misinformation being spread out and it's not appropriate to spread it around (especially as even the Japanese families and staff affected are upset by this). So please, you will just have to be patient and wait for the official word comes out from Kyoto Animation and the Japanese police.

#############################################

Now onto something more positive, MVM Entertainment have started a weekend sale dedicated to their collector's edition box sets. The prices are much cheaper than the 20% off sale that happened last month. For instance you can get the Princess Principal box set for £39.99 compared to £47.99 last month.

Here's the full list:
  • Armed Girl's Machiavellism (Blu-ray) - £39.99
  • The Eccentric Family Season 1 (Blu-ray) *DVD Sized* - £24.99
  • Flip Flappers (Blu-ray) *DVD Sized* - £39.99
  • Fruits Basket (2001 series) (Blu-ray) - £24.99
  • GATE (Blu-ray & DVD) *DVD Sized* - £39.99
  • Girls' Last Tour (Blu-ray) - £39.99
  • Grimoire of Zero (Blu-ray & DVD) *DVD Sized* - £39.99
  • Higurashi: When They Cry Seasons 1-3 (Blu-ray) - £59.99
  • Log Horizon Seasons 1-2 (Blu-ray) - £49.99
  • A Lull in the Sea (Blu-ray) *DVD Sized* - £59.99
  • Made in Abyss (Blu-ray) - £39.99
  • Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun (Blu-ray & DVD) *DVD Sized* - £24.99
  • Princess Principal (Blu-ray) - £39.99
  • Sword Oratoria: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side (Blu-ray & DVD) *DVD Sized* - £39.99
  • Tenchi Muyo! OVA Series (Blu-ray & DVD) *DVD Sized* - £24.99

Well said.

As for the sale, very tempted by the Made in Abyss set, the standard edition is just £10 cheaper.

Just ordered Higurashi: When They Cry Seasons 1-3, seems like a decent horror/mystery.

Looking for advice from the more hardcore Otaku on here; I'm heading to Japan in four weeks and despite the insane price of Blu-Rays over there I'm still tempted to pick up a few.

Does anyone have any recommendations for English friendly anime that's not available here?

Also I am a sucker for a 4k but have only found 4 with English subtitles; Ghost in the Shell and Innocence, The two Gundam Thunderbolt OVA's. Does anyone have these, do you recommend them? And are there any other 4K (even non anime) that are English friendly and worth a purchase?

Pro-Tipp:
Go to one of the Shukawaya (駿河屋) warehouses and buy used stuff.
Most Japanese used stuff is basically like new and you can get so many awesome and cheap deals.
Sometimes they even sell shrink wrapped stuff as "used".
(also includes video games, soundtrack CDs, books, etc.)

For example I got the Blood Last Vampire Limited Edition box (DVD though) for 880 Yen. Which is 6.50 brit bucks.
This one:

Got the soundtrack CD for this as well for 600 Yen.
Also got Blood+ (Production I.G.) soundtrack 1, 2 and complete best for 450, 750 and 650 Yen. It was all dirt cheap.

The three Patlabor movies immediately spring to mind. 3 of the best animated films of all time, sadly not yet released over here (the first two even have the English dubs).
The special edition 4K release of Mary and the Witch’s Flower looks like a nice set (got it a couple of weeks ago but haven’t opened it yet!)

As you mentioned Gundam. I´d recommend the Origin Movies. Really nice packaging, with a booklet and nice Coverart. Little bit pricey to get all 6 of them, but its worth it.

Another tip is to use Amazon.co.jp. Especially if you look for something specific. Can pick up your orders in nearly every convinient store.

Attack on Titan: The Roar of Awakening is coming to home video from Anime Limited, who had brought the film to cinemas back in February 2018.

This is a compilation film covering the events of Attack on Titan Season 2.

The UK release will be Japanese audio with English subtitles only. An English dub does exist as Funimation have used it for their theatrical release, but this is more of a case where Anime Limited doesn't want to wait that long.

The film will be available on 30th September 2019 for Blu-ray and DVD in a Collector's Edition priced at £39.99 SRP. The set will include a 68-page Production Sketches booklet.

Pre-orders begin in early August.

Mini TL;DR in the world of UK anime:

Anime Limited:

Nothing new, though it's worth noting that if you have yet to acquire either Mirai or Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack, these two are on out of print status (the former almost). They're still available to order on other retailers.

Attack on Titan: The Roar of Awakening Collector's Edition's early bird concludes on Thursday. This is a compilation of the show's second season. The English dub will NOT be included with this release (yes, this has been dubbed). Collector's Edition release includes a 68-page production booklet.

Manga Entertainment:

Quite a lot has happened since the last update.

Manga Ent. titles now streaming on Funimation Now:
[Show spoiler]
  • Afro Samurai & Afro Samurai: Resurrection
  • Attack on Titan the Movie Parts 1 & 2 (Live-Action)
  • Black Butler II
  • Blood-C & Blood-C: The Last Dark
  • Deadman Wonderland
  • Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
  • Higanjima: Escape from Vampire Island (Live-Action)
  • King of Thorn
  • Parasyte the Movie Parts 1 & 2 (Live-Action)

Yep, we have a bunch of titles now streaming on Funimation Now. There's plenty of more to come. My estimates include the likes of Last Exile, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Soul Eater, Spice & Wolf, and Steins;Gate.

Next, we have a brief mention of non-anime properties. Manga Entertainment has acquired Adventure Time (seasons 1-5), Bojack Horseman (seasons 1-2), Samurai Jack (seasons 1-5) and Steven Universe (seasons 1-2) for the UK on Blu-ray and DVD. Manga is made aware of the authoring issues with Madman's transfer of Steven Universe.

By being acquired by Funimation, the distributor will be bringing Fruits Basket (2019 series), Goblin Slayer, and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime to the UK on Blu-ray and DVD. Each title will be released in separate formats with a slip-cover, and also a limited edition variant for the former two.

Fruits Basket (2019 series LE content comparison):
  • UK: 3 Art Cards, a Paperweight Stand, 2 Paperweights, a Charm Bracelet, & 2 Charms.
  • US: 3 Art Cards featuring artwork from the Japanese release, High-quality Resin Replicas of the Rat and Ox Zodiac Figurines from Shigure's home, an Onigiri Zodiac Figure which was created with approval from the manga publisher, and a Faux Wood Stand for the zodiac figures with room for additional figurines to be released at a later date.
Manga Ent. will also be re-attempting a Blu-ray release for Soul Eater.

Dragon Ball Super release schedule has been pushed back by around a month each. Part 7 (episodes 79-91) is now due for 23rd September, Part 8 (episodes 92-104) is now due for 28th October, while Part 9 (episodes 105-117) is now scheduled for 9th December.

Current Release Schedule for Manga (Anime):
[Show spoiler]
  • 12th August / Attack on Titan Season 3 Part 1 (DE Blu-ray & DVD + CE Blu-ray + SE DVD)
