[Question] Upgrated my Desktop PC

Hello guys.

I looking to upgrated my Desktop PC, this is all i have:


Case: Cooler Master Storm Scout 2
Power Supply: CORSAIR CS550W Modular 80Plus GOLD
Processors: AMD Ryzen™ 5 1600 Six-Core 3.20
Liquid Cooler: Antec KUHLER H2O K120
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming 3
Hard Disk:
C: SAMSUNG NVMe SSD 960 EVO 250 GB (73% FREE SPACE 06.12.20) (HEALTH 96%)
E: WD BLUE (PELICULAS Old) 6TB 5700 RPM 64MB 6Gb/s (54% FREE SPACE 06.12.20) (HEALTH 100%)
F: TOSHIBA (SERIES New) 3TB 7200 RPM 64MB (HDWD130) 6Gb/s (44% FREE SPACE 06.12.20) (HEALTH 100%)
G: WD RED (SERIES Old) 3TB 5400 RPM 64MB 6Gb/s (32% FREE SPACE 06.12.20) (HEALTH 100%)

All this stuff i have them for 3/4 years and ther is a few that i have for only a few months.

Now, i understand that the new Processors or Motherboards doesn't have something that i need to use a Real 4K disc on the PC (in little words )
So i wanted to know wich ones are the lastes? more news? Processros and Motherboards that i can buy and still have what i need.

Or maeby i can just put 64GB RAM total and will be good for now?

I want the PC for play games (but i'm not a gamers, so i don't need a monster PC) watch and work with 4K and others movies, and Adobe video programs and another programs like that.
And i will happy if you can recomend a good but no to much expensive card to transfer a VHS/Laserdisc to the PC (i try those chip ones from eBay, but they not work with windows 10, and people told me that a card will work)

The question is, why do you need/want to upgrade?
Would say it's a decent PC generally and kinda fits your requirements.

Depending on how much work/video editing you do with it, I would upgrade the CPU to an R7 3700X and pair it with 32 GiB RAM (DDR4-3000 and up).
And depending on what games you play, it may really make sense to upgrade to an GTX 1060 - you may get that one for $150 or less used and maybe can sell your 1050 Ti for ~80-$100 (no idea what the used prices are for the latter)?
Otherwise, I would advise against 64 GiB RAM.

Now, I'm not sure regarding your "4K disc" question, but from what I've read you can't play back UHD BDs and still won't be able with the mentioned upgrades. But depending on your BD drive that may not matter (keyword "LibreDrive").

I'm not one of those people that every year change the PC, but every 4 year i like to make a upgrate.

But because i read here that the newest processors and mother boards are not good for 4K real disk, i wanted to ask wich are the "newest" that are good for that.

About the grapic card, a few people told me about the 1060, that is twis good that the one i have and that for me is going to be good for me.

about the CPU, is not going to be a problem for the 4K?
and if i change my CPU i will change also my motherboard because is "started" to make a few little problems hehe

I saw here in this forum that the newest CPU or motherboards (not sure wich one) doesn't have an security firm or i don't know what exactly, so a Real 4K Disc, won't play on the PC, with my PC rigth now, i can without a problem to watch.
Hope that naw i more clear :-)
