Im buying a new reciever and my old sub is a passive sub from a HTIB, as I established in another topic (https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?p=1430735) I should be getting a new sub and can use my current speakers for now.
I need a decent sub that I can try to get within the $100-125 mark preferably. Im looking at PSW303 or something similar. Any help? Thanks |

Check these sites. You can't get less expensive subs than these:

Sorry
i just seen how much your looking to spend. Brother i live in Canada it's going to be hard for you to find a nice sub for that price.Sorry Man Maybe you can start looking for used subs. There's nothing wrong with that. PAWNSHOPS ![]() This is just my personal opinion |

In trying to keep you around your budget I will suggest the following options. I don't know if any of these are available to you in Canada but here they are: THIS and THIS Sony, THIS Yamaha, and if you can spend a few bucks more then go with THIS Velodyne if you can get a hold of one. The Polk you are looking at would better than what you have, but I think it will disappoint you a bit by not making a tremendous difference. Bass is not Polk's forte.

The amount of bass can be controlled with a turn of the knob to get the desired level you want. You will be amazed at what subtle sounds you can miss by having a sub par sub. A better sub will make a huge difference, and you don't have to crank it up loud to notice the difference. I have a Yamaha powered sub on my computer and its 6" and a mere 25watts, but man does it put out some bass. It puts the 8" passive Pioneer sub that's in my bedroom to shame. The sheer weight of the thing is pretty amazing for such a small sub, but that's what you get from quality construction. I think the Yamaha and the Velodyne subs that I suggested will give you the tighter bass of the bunch. THIS place out of New York ships to Canada and they have the Yamaha for $89.99 so you can probably get the total price somewhere around your budget when you account for shipping. I've ordered from J&R before and their service is excellent.
