DSD128 @ 11,289Kbps Proud as a Peacock!

this is a PURE DSD album, it was recorded and mastered in DSD, no conversions!

I picked up some real gems over the weekend over at highdeftapetransfers.com during their 30% off everything at the site sale and I couldn't let that slip by me. I picked up mostly Pure DSD albums (recorderd and mastered in DSD) as well as a PCM selection.

here are the Pure DSD128 albums I picked up:

here is the PCM (FLAC) 192/24 album I picked up:

I got all of these albums, all with full Liner Notes included, all at the resolution listed for under $94 bucks, now THAT'S A STEAL OF A DEAL!

and yes, they sound amazing, I'm talking incredibly detailed recordings. I highly recommend any and all of them! Some Classical, some Jazz and a nice bit of Latin Flavored stuff too, and as the saying goes, "it's all good!"

howdy people, I'm at work on a hot & humid day here, got cool a/c in the office. I purchased a bunch of hi-rez audio over the Memorial Day holiday weekend from HDTT & HDTracks they both had great sales for the holiday so I grabbed a bunch of them. I'm in the iFi Lounge, not sweating, listening to one of the many right now. Currently jamming to:

DSD128 @ 11,289Kbps ..............Down By The Riverside Baby!

This looks interesting.

What's your thoughts?

HDMI input and tubes really spiked up my interest.

It is very interesting. Every HP connection, HDMI input for HiRez Audio from a Blu-ray player and it is a hybrid tube/SS amp and pre-amp. It seems to be everything.

I just wonder if it does everything well or some well and others average/below average.

It does look like an HDMI port, but it says ESL-Link, what the heck is that???

EDIT: I asked on Head-Fi and someone posted this from a different review - "And there’s a lot to enjoy as there is also ESL-link connector for plugging in a special energizer module. So it will be a second (after the German Audiovalve Luminare) headphone amplifier that will be suitable for any headphones: planar, electrostatic, AMT, dynamic."

So looks like it's for electrostatic cans.

Geez it is a Swiss Army knife headphone amp. I would not be surprised if it made toast as well.

I'm sceptical. Usually when something is designed to do everything it does nothing exceptional. Usually everything is poor to average. Time will tell as we get more user reviews.

now, before my workout, I'm chillin in the iFi Lounge listening to this joint that I picked up the other day from Amazon. it was a box set of 3 SACD's and 1 Blu-ray Audio disc. the BA disc had the entire contents of the 3 SACD's. also on the BA, it included a downloadable version of the contents of it in the form of either 2 channel FLAC, DSD or WAV which covered the entire 3 SACD's content. you do need either special software to download it or you need a Blu-Ray reader/burner connected to a pc to get to it. the DSD downloaded file, 10gb in size! it's a very nice set of music for $26 bucks! so, here I am listening to:

DSD 64 @ 5644kbps...................The London Symphony Orchestra: accept no substitute!
