Iíll let you know once I open it! These days it might be one of those horrible jumbo Amarays... but the box is nice (and surprisingly compact).

Thanks mate. Looks nice, would have preferred separate hard cases, but at least they're separate.

Pilot 1&2

Loved this series when it was shown, gutted when it was cancelled.

Shot on location this is a visually lovely series that would definite hugely from HD. Sadly its highly unlikely, and at least the DVDs here offer a pretty decent PQ.

I'm also not a huge fan of HIGHLANDER (the movie) so this was the first thing I remember seeing Clancy Brown in. Really liked his character - imagine my dismay when practically every character he's played since has been an assh0le of epic proportions! Wish he's played this kind of role more often.

Well, Clancy turned out to be heroic in Starship Troopers, but yeah he's best known for his terrifying, over-the-top performance as Kurgan.

I bought close to 200 DVDs from a local department store that closed down on Friday. Everything in store (excluding gift cards) were 10c. I mainly went in to see if I can grab any kids movies/shows that I can hoard now and gift later in the year, but I also picked up a few titles that I was interested in. Everything else is for my folks to sell as they see fit.

I was tempted to buy the entire lot considering how ridiculously cheap it all was, but there was also a lot of junk amidst the quality stuff, and I'd be damned if I'm going to spend even as little as 10c for the likes of the Fifty Shades movies, "reality" crap like Dance Moms, or a certain reality show about a certain family comprised of talentless, vacuous, and attention-seeking nobodies.

Ordinarily, I would have preferred paying substantially more than 10c for the Blu-rays (where available) of the stuff I was interested in, but I think I might just settle for the DVDs for now and decide whether I think they are worth the upgrade later on (I have no intention of keeping any of the DVDs that have a Blu-ray/UHD version available).

I found out on Monday that there was another store closing down on the same day. To think that I could have possibly scored a few hundred more! (though there's no guarantee that the other store would have been quite as cheap, or have as many quality titles remaining)

I also just realised that this thread is UK specific (I couldn't find an Aussie equivalent). Oops.

There is a DE release, but I'm not sure about the audio/subtitles, isn't it a mixture throughout?

^^ The German blu stiffs you on English subs for the French dialogue, there is none.

I had to Frankenstein my copy - used the German video, English audio and sourced and edited an English sub track - edited it to remove all subs except for the French dialogue and then just play the movie with the sub track enabled.

PITA but it works.

We must have something against swimming pools in this country - No Swimming Pool, long OOP La Piscine, and no sign of The Swimmer......

I've done a few of those, tried to do the same with the DE Les Valseuses, but I couldn't manage to find anything that synced.

Pretty sure I've done that one before, I'll have a look and see if I still have it.

I keep meaning to remux GI SAMURAI, sadly the JP blu is not English-friendly at all. Need to rip the sub track from the DVD but I'll be damned if I can remember where I left it!

I do have an .srt subtitle track for that mate, let me know if you want it, you'll just need to remux it back in with the video/audio.

Long shot, but I'm looking for a subtitle track for Ting Shan-hsi's EIGHT HUNDRED HEROES/THE LONGEST BRIDGE (1975) - if anyone has one, let me know I have the DVD but it's totally English-unfriendly sadly.
