I am really enjoying the Remixed and Remastered Cradle of Filth - Cruelty and the Beast. Literally every single thing sounds better than on the very thin-sounding original.

As a fan of Opeth, I am kind of disappointed at them, especially their tour manager. Long story short, they were playing in Hong Kong on 8th Dec, yet their tour management announced that they are playing in Singapore that same day instead, due to "logistical issues".

From what I have gathered per the local organizer is that, their tour management made that decision unilaterally, while making a deal with Singapore simultaneously behind their backs; to avoid any issues with possible protests on the street of Hong Kong. Truth is, yes, they may be protests here and there; but they ain't as large scale like back in the summer. Basides, ducking out from rebellious protests doesn't sound too metal to me.

Used to be a huge fan of the various styles in the late 90s to the earlier part of the mid 00s. There was a whole lot of good material to tread through from the 70s until the then present. But I pretty much got burnt out and started listening to a lot of other stuff. Over the years since there hasn't been a whole lot to really hold my attention other than a few acts here and there. And since my tinnitus has gotten progressively worse since then due to loud shows, headphones, and being exposed to obscenely loud sounds in general I just haven't really had much desire to listen to a whole lot of heavier music. But every now and then I'll binge or check out some new bands. Some of the classics still hold up and others just don't really engage me in the same way anymore. Also, it's kind of tough for me to take some genres as seriously anymore such as the 2nd wave or inspired black metal - it's been parodied to death by this point and the imagery of the bands such as Immortal still makes me laugh. Also, I'm just not as big of a fan anymore of death growls unless they're done really well such as Death, Edge of Sanity, older Opeth, Gorguts, Suffocation, etc.

I’ve been listening to this band for years. They signed to metal blade and released a album today. If you like motorhead and venom , you should love this.

Here’s the first song off the album and also their first video

I am not a fan of death metal by any means but I listened to the entire album on Spotify and loved it. Ordered the CD and it should be here tomorrow.

That's kick ass, glad to hear it !!!! You'll probably really dig their debut from 2016 Starspawn then, and their other project, Spectral Voice - Eroded Corridors of Unbeing is f##king epic doom infused psychedelic death/doom that is awesome as well !

Let’s see, past couple of days i’ve been listening to Shoggoth’s Mythos album, Skraeckoedlan, the last two Pentagram studio albums, Necromancers first album (not the weak second), Vindex, Excelsis, Vulture Industries, Xoth’s cube album, and some Hanging Garden. And for more hard rock than metal, Black Space Riders. Oh, and Aether Realm is great

Although I have a REALLY hard time with extreme metal genres because of the "singing", I found myself hooked by this one because of the guitar riff & drums that go with it. This will probably be like The Monkees to you seasoned extreme metalheads, but I'm kind of proud of myself for continuing to try to reach out & enjoy different genres.

I'm not a fan either but I can handle this because at least, if you listen, you can hear the words. Some of it just sounds like growling and you can't understand anything.

Not that often, it's been a while. I've seen them live & it was an incredible show! Met pretty much the entire band & got their autographs & Chris Caffery & Alex Skolnick guitar picks.

I've seen them 10 times I think. Met their leader, Paul O'Neill, once. If you've never heard it, check out Beethoven's Last Night. It's their first non-Christmas album. Highly recommended. I'll have to pick up the Ayreon blu-ray when it comes out.
