Question 3D compatible A/V receivers...any recommendations?

I've just upgraded my entire system and realized that my Yamaha HTR-6260 will not process the 3D video signal via HDMI. Any recommendations for good receivers in the $500-$750 range? Thanks in advance.

Use code EMCKDKC57 for an additional $100 off.

Total comes to $429.99 shipped.

I haven't researched AVRs since I bought mine, so no clue whether or not there is something comparable/better out there - I just noticed this on Slick Deals yesterday.

Just no Onkyo for us anymore.

We bought the 508 about a year ago (one of the first ones that were both 3D-compatible and offered 7.1), but the software switched the surround-channels around (L=R and R=L) in LPCM, so they released new firmware.

However, to get yourself registered took us over 10 phonecalls (never ever somebody called us back), because their website refers Canadians to the US and back again. Then, having a 'shipping label' (just an address on a word-document) made up by another department (no communication possible) and actually emailing it to us took them over half a year(!), plus took us another 10 phonecalls (more, actually). Then, having it picked-up, send to the service center, waiting for more than 4 weeks (for a simple firmware-update), and having it shipped back to us, took them all-in-all 8 months!

So, the product is fine in itself (now), but the warranty has almost expired, and we yet have to hook it up again and test it...

I picked up a Denon AVR891 from here it is $399. The avr891 is basically the same as the denon AVR-2311CI but it does not have HD Radio. I've been very happy with the power and sound quality, no issues with video pass through and 3d. Excellent buy at $399 shipped.

I love my Denon. It sounds fantastic. It's my first HD sound system though, so have nothing to compare it to. I noticed a better picture quality as well.

Integra 40.3 will cost about $900. Superior video processing to the rest listed. Has all features you could ever ask for. I know its a lil above your price range...but its worth it. Save for a lil longer. Video processor is the same as the oppo 93...which is used as a reference player. I have a separate amp so i'm not using the power from the DTR 40.3 but everyone tells me its pretty true to what they say.

Default Incompatability issue or a setting?

I have a Mitsubishi WD-65835 DLP television, with which I have to use the 3DC-1000 3D adapter. I also have a Yamaha RX-V663 receiver which is not capable of converting 3D signals.

Up until now, I have had my PS3 operating as a 3D player and it worked just fine. I had the HDMI running to the 3D adapter and an optical running to the receiver.

Now, I just purchased a Sony BDP-S780 Blu-ray player so that I could upconvert my regular movies into simulated 3D. That works fine. Where I'm having trouble now, is that for some reason when I put a 3D Blu-Ray into the new player, I get an error that says it does not detect a 3D set-up and can not play the disc. I don't get it. It's Sony. The setup is exactly the same. Why doesn't it recognize the signal? Is there anything I can do aside from getting an HDMI switcher and plugging in both the PS3 and the new player simultaneously? HELP!

does your Sony BDP-S780 go directly to the TV, or through the receiver first?

The HDMI goes to the 3d Adapter. The optical cord goes to the receiver. I already had to route around the receiver for the PS3.

No worries, the glasses should be fine. They are a 3G type system & when th TV goes into 3D mode & you push the button it will instantly sync. No pointing them at the TV, no loss of sync, I can go to the kitchen or run to the restroom without taking the glasses off & keep perfect sync anywhere upstairs...

If the lights turn green I'd be confuses..

After 90 hours mine started blinking red, time for a Btry change....

I have 6 pairs & no problems at all...but w/o the TV you really can't tell?

YES, your glasses are fine....

I tried ALL four of my open glasses & pushing the button while the TV is off is nothing, NO LIGHTS, JUST DEAD, it needs the TV..

So I grabbed my other 2 & put the battery's in...

One gave me a red blink?? The other nothing..NOW BOTH do nothing, I turned the TV ON, & ALL six work fine..

No issues, your gtg!

Well I'm subscribed, I'd like to hear your opinion....

I tell ya, for shutter glasses the 3000BG system is freaking great! What's really nice is that after you pop the 3D bluray in, you wait until the screen goes into 3D mode, it'll pop up a large box with that fancy "3D" logo, you just push the button once & before you even get your finger off the buttom it's already shaded, linked & working. No pointing at the TV, holding the button trying to sync, loss of sync ect..

Another nice trick is that a lot of films have previews & other content & therefore the screen switches from 3D to 2D & back & forth several times, the glasses will automatically turn on & off so you don't have to push the button anymore..

After the movie is over, if you forget to turn off the glasses they shut off the instant the TV shuts off & or if the TV is switched out of 3D mode...

Makes for batteries lasting a long ass time, mine (my own pair, we have our own in my house) made it 90 hours before my wife walked by one day & said "your red lights blinking"? So it started blinking in the middle of the movie & I just finished the film, shut them off & put them away, next time I pulled them out I pushed the button & it was linking so I replaced the battery & they are fine..I guess it's a "Warning" your battery's low..

Great stuff, these are nice shutter glasses!

I recently got a 43" Samsung 3D HDTV and I'm loving the glasses.

I returned the 4 "free" 3050's for 3100's.

I think I may go get a 3050 for my 6 year old. They aren't marketed as "kids" glasses but the way the fit may hold them better for her.

(Oh, and mine won't power on unless the Tv is displaying 3D.)

Did the same thing. BB was doing a free pair of 3050's with the tv and I was able to switch them for the 3100's.
Love the glasses.
And yes you need your tv on and in 3D for your glasses to turn on. You'll have to synchronize them first which is just a push of the power button.
You Must go buy Beauty and the Beast 3D for one of your first viewing movies on it.

Agreed on Beauty and the Beast... One of the best 3D Blu I have enjoyed.

Tangled also is awesome. A lot of the 3D blus are great actually.
