Congrats on starting a new, healthy life, BizCat! Once you pass the "3 month rule" you won't be able to stop. Bodybuilding is a lifestyle and it's very addictive.
[Show spoiler]In case you don't know what a "3 month rule" is, I'll explain:
If you follow a diet plan and train hard for 3 months (at least 2 hours a day, 5 to 6 days a week) straight, you will see results - that's guaranteed. Now, don't get too excited, those results are tiny in comparison to what you can achieve in the long run.
After that period you can either stop working out because you've achieved your goals or decide that you want to continue. Whether your original goal was to gain muscle or lose fat; if you decide to continue working out, you will probably never stop. It gets addictive from that point on.
I joined the gym in 2014 because I let myself go and wanted to lose fat - that's all I wanted. After 3 months I was lean but looking a bit muscular. I had never seen myself like that in my life so I decided to continue. Now I've been working out for 5 years and I never miss a day. Couldn't be happier with my life.
Good luck!
