I also, unfortunately, can't see Sony putting The Big Heat in a Columbia 4K set. As far as the genre goes, I see them putting Gilda, The Lady From Shanghai or In A Lonely Place, as they're more popular titles. Though The Big Heat is definitely my favorite of the bunch and I wish there was a 4K release ![]() |

I would imagine The Big Heat would be on Sony's radar because of it's induction into the NFR as a possible future inclusion. But who (outside of Sony employees of course) honestly knows? |

It would seem not. The most recent restoration, the 2011 Universum one, appears to have been done at 2K:

Just a friendly FYI - the Kino insider mentioned a few days ago that they’re letting the Lang silent box fall out of print. If you haven’t picked up a copy yet then now is likely the time.

I've been waiting for another 50% off listing at a Kino sale, guess I know why that didn't happen. |

So far no pre-order link but Joe May's 'Hilde Warren und der Tod' written by Fritz Lang will be released in Germany in Q2.

net: If you are getting the Kino box set just for these, then you are paying a lot of money for those lesser films in bare bones edition, imho. But technically, yes, that is the only way to get 100% of Lang's silents. Note: I say all of this knowing that if Eureka put out a LE of these films stacked with supplements and a booklet, I would get it. LOL |

This is the first record of a confirmed 35mm screening I've been able to find since the 90s, basically. The listing does note "Film rare, copie en état médiocre" (i.e. "rare film, print in mediocre condition") |
