Damn! I love that movie but the director's cut is better. I'll wait then. Thanks for the heads-up!

As of now the only way to get the 142 minute director's cut is to buy the DVD that was released in 2005. Here are the four different versions in the U.S., including the BD.

If I recall, there were a couple of scenes with the Prince added. I may be wrong, but all the scenes that were added were part of the first DVD's deleted scenes section. But that may have been for a different movie (maybe Black Hawk Down...)

I personally would like them to release the director's cut and maybe some features. While I don't remember the director's cut adding much to the picture, I'd love to have some interviews with Hans Zimmer and his crew about the score.

I bought Tears of the Sun director's cut and the runtime says 132min. I saw on some sites it's 142min. Do those sites have it wrong or is there another version? Thanks.

Right on. Do you think it's a goof up on the dvd case then, stating it's 132min?

Probably. I would check the actual disc. If you were curious the US BD is the best disc for the theatrical cut.

Thanks. I checked the disc and it shows 132 minutes. Weird. I wonder if anyone on this forum could screen shot their extended cut showing 142 minutes.

I won both the directors cut on DVD and the Blu-Ray Theatrical.

The alternate opening of the film on the DC gives the film immense weight right out of the gate.
