No matter how you change your diet, if you are serious about wanting to lose weight you need to do an hour of non-stop, rigorous exercise every day. Non-stop means that walking from your couch to the refrigerator doesn't count, walking ~2 miles without stopping counts. The rigorous part mean keeping your heart rate elevated around 100 bpm. If you are obese, walking will get your heart rate into that range, if you are skinny you may need to take up jogging or another physically more intense activity.

I’m doing lazy keto, been doing it for the past month. No exercise tho.

Gonna give intermittent fasting a try soon, maybe November.

Throwing a number like 100 bpm out there is just stupid as is the rest of this individual's advice. Exercise of ANY kind is good for you. The kind suggested could lead to a heart attack if you're out of shape. As for the heart rate...everybody is different. You have to calculate what your heart rate should be. Here's an article about it.

I've been having weight issues since I was a kid. Always been a fat boy. Didn't take a stand til high school. My fattest was 260, and the lowest I got it to was 215. Over the past few years I've been fluctuating. Last year I was close to being back to 260 (was 256). I've dropped 23 pounds since then. I'm 233 and want to lose more, but my dieting is shit. I was actually making an effort last year, but stopped. I need to get back on a decent diet.

I'm in my early 30s and now I'm feeling the affects of being overweight. I now have HBP. Funny thing is I am actually an active guy, so that's a plus. But stress and being fat finally caught up to me. I need to get down to at least 200 before I'm 35. I'm not getting any younger, and I got about several years before my metabolism shits on me.

I've lost 40 pounds in a month and a half doing Keto Omad (One Meal a Day) I'll drink some black coffee and water through the morning till 3 or 4 and then eat a reasonable meal which consist of a meat, a healthy fat and a vegetable.

Before this I was going through a period of trial and error with various diets to see how they worked and if they worked and so far this is really working the best.

Are you counting calories or just feeling it out? I started keto ten days ago.

Just feeling it out mostly, I drank 3 cups of black coffee to start off the day (it is a fat burner and it helps me thru my fasting hours. I don't eat until 3-4 pm and I have my meal ready to eat for that time.

Include veggies, a meat and I included 4-5 boiled eggs that I put some tapatio hot sauce on because KETO flu is a thing.

Lost over 40lbs and have gained back 10 in the past year with all the obvious stresses the last year has brought everyone. Man, getting back on the wagon is so extremely hard.

Does anyone have any recs for a good pre-work out drink? I’m thinking about getting back into using those for a boost.

I used to use pre-workout powders. They never did anything for me. I now go with 1/2 banana, 1/3 slice of a fuji apple, and a tbsp of natural peanut butter. Add a little water and ice and blend it and I'm good to go. I tend to lift heavy too, so I'll often combine that with creatine. I have plenty of energy throughout my workout, and I love the taste!

That sounds way better than the mixers. I’ll give that a try instead, thanks for the idea!

I've been on a grapefruit diet, which has worked in the past, this time, it really hasn't helped at all, in one week I've lost only a pound.

I’ve had a lot of success with personal trainer food. All meats and proteins for the most part and portion control. I added exercise and had even better success. Lost over 50lbs. Gained some back thanks to COVID though..

Just ignore all the media bollocks and eat smaller portions, exercise for at least 30 minutes a day (brisk walk) and job is done.

You can still have a treat now and again but just eat less. Maybe a bowl of porridge for breakfast made with skimmed milk or water with added Blueberries. Porridge is slow release and will last until lunchtime no problem.

I lost 4 stone, going from 16 stone to 12 using this method. Smaller portions and brisk exercise was the key. Obviously, the food you eat needs to be reasonably healthy but not rabbit food. If you love food, you can still enjoy it just don’t overload your plate.

Nicely done! I would try to get in some exercising- try to get in a daily 30 minute walk (brisk) which shouldn't be too hard to do. As for keeping the weight off. Another way to ensure you're not creeping back up is to weigh in every day so you know exactly where you're at and if you need to change your diet, etc.

walking is definitely what I'm currently doing, doing it briskly is key, listening to some 'house' dance music at 128 BPM on my Ipod keeps a good rhythm. What really helped me in originally losing the weight was going off of sugar entirely, bringing it back into my diet I'm trying to curtail and keep it low is going to be a challenge.

oh and I love your Avatar - I just watched it in 4K.

That initial diet I was on was low carbs and no sugars. I try to watch my sugar intake as well which definitely helped my progress. House music will definitely get you moving.

Thanks! The 4K looks great...just waiting for A Clockwork Orange now.
