Nintendo once again is going to make millions from a game that re-uses the same storyline: kid in new town, run into grass, random pokemon, defeat elite four. rinse and repeat.

Yeah that's pretty much it but once upon a time that worked very well. It's a great nostalgic experience these remakes.

The new ones diamond and pearl as i said are pretty awful.

Many RPGs share similar story structure. In fact, replace "pokemon" and "elite four" in your description with "enemy" and "final boss", and EVERY RPG fits that structure.

But... man... Fire Red was so great. I don't own a new fangled Nintendo portable gaming device, but this might make me get one, if only for it.

Ruby/Saphire was pretty bad too. Red/Blue and Gold/Silver is where it's at.

Oh yeah i remember waiting for RS for so long and finally got Ruby. What a mess the graphics where and how uninspired the mon where also.

I consider them worse than DP.

I keep trying but can't get into the newest ones. I thought I got tired of the formula but maybe they just aren't good.
