All I want to do is see the last Jackass movie anywhere. At this point, it could be in a theater, Paramount+ at home, or a disc mailed to me. If that gets benched again and shelved then the virus and it’s cousins won. That’s my marker and the hill I’ll die on.

These variants sound like damn Decepticons. Anyway, not sure when I'm going back to the theater. Since I had COVID likely from going to go see No Way Home twice. Which annoys me because most people in my theater had no mask. So for those anti-mask people, go to hell.

My wife and I were grocery shopping in Target today; other than us and the employees, I didn't see one f-ing mask.

I hope you are feeling well. Hang tough, buddy.

Glad I live in LA. Drafthouse won't let you in unless you're fully vaxxed and wearing a mask.

I’m in Riverside, we don’t have that requirement. Just the indoor mask mandate which means the unvaxxed either come to our cities or San Bernadino & San Bernadino County. Being stuck in traffic and making a 45+ minute drive seems to be better than just getting a vaccine shot.

Problem presented, no solution given.

Steven Soderbergh Discusses How to Keep Movie Theaters Alive
"What can you do to make sure 10 years from now [young people are] going to the movies as often as they do today?"

https://www.ign.com/articles/steven-...aming-services

Theaters had 10+ years to find a solution to dwindling attendance. Their response was to expand.
Less theaters is the only answer.

Less bad theaters and more GOOD theaters. Those small broom closet-sized theaters with screens not much bigger than some people's home projection systems need to go. At multiplexes, make EVERY screen a premium screen. My policy has always been if a multiplex has even ONE bad screen/auditorium, I don't go there just on the chance the movie I see might be playing on it.

This is why I'm glad I know my theatre like the back of my hand and which screens to avoid.

Last movie I went to, there was a couple behind me that kept reacting to each impactful moment. Oh, ah, she said that?! I thought it was a younger couple. Nope, they were on the other end of the age spectrum. They were not obnoxious, but I would have preferred not to hear them. I can stand that, but I can't stand the glow of people's phones. Another recent movie - this guy kept checking his phone, the new one that folds. I feel like he thought he had something to prove by constantly looking at it. He just kept looking at his contacts list. It was hard to miss - the screen is as big as a small tablet!

So back to my last movie - this 'couple' was there... I am walking out. The guy is waiting outside a bathroom for the girl. He is quietly talking on phone, "Yes I love you too". Wait, I thought his date was in the bathroom? Oh snap!

Lol that's funny. I guess from his tone he wasn't talking to a kid or something?

I'll probably go see Scream 5 in the RPX tomorrow. Just because I got a $50 movie giftcard for Christmas and there hasn't been a movie that I've been interested in going to see (I've already seen Spider-Man). Other than Scream 5, there really isn't a movie I want to see in theaters until Morbius comes out in April.

Not sure what's going on but my local Regal is only showing Belle and Scream starting from next Tuesday. On Monday there's the usual movies playing but after that it looks like the selection really drops.

Interesting. My nearest theater is going to play Belle as well. But I'm most likely going to see it at home instead.

Probably staffing issues so they are scheduling lean to be safe. My closest AMCs moved to late showings for the last two weeks.
