I like Bicentennial Man. It was surprisingly good. Great casting all round.

The Exorcist III is overrated. Sure it's creepy and an interesting story but I want Pazuzu not some Silence Of The Lambs / Seven shiz and Brad Dorff gives Mommy Dearest a run for her money over acting. That guys hyperbolic take just exhausts me.

Sure there is one great jump scare and the ending of the directors cut is far more satisfying (especially after enduring Brad huffing and puffing and blowing and heave howing) for the last act. Linda runs rings around him with one restrained cold stare.

But it is not an Exorcist movie. I would watch 2 over 3 any day.

The Birdcage is damn near perfect but everyone is saying that. And What Dreams May Come is sublime.

Robin Williams was awesome.
I saw What Dreams May Come shortly (like within a month) of my sister taking her own life. It was not what I needed to see and not an easy watch for anyone who has lost a loved one that way.

But that is not really a criticism of the movie I guess but more on the ideology on display.

**edit** in posting this originally I didn't even think of Robin's own life. I guess it puts the movie in an even more interesting context to contemplate life on our own terms and with sincere sensitivity. I have edited a word from my original post just out of wider respect for anyones own beliefs regardless of if I agree with them or not.

One Hour Photo doesn't get mentioned a lot either...unless I missed it being mentioned already.

While I don't like Popeye all that much been ages since I have seen it. I do agree with the rest of your opinions. Patch Adams got a rough ride from critics back in the day.

Exorcist 2 is horrible but Exorcist 3 is quite over rated. I agree with you. It doesn’t feel like an exorcist film at all. And Dourif does get annoying. The movie had a few scary scenes and that’s it.

"Boxcar Bertha" is actually really good (in a fun, drive-in, Roger Corman kind of way)

"Maps to the Stars" is very good

"Inherent Vice" is good and a lot of fun

"New York, New York" (Director's Cut) is severely underrated

"Burn After Reading" is hilarious

My favorite part of Burn After Reading is the Greek Chorus of JK Simmons and David Rasche at Langley, occasionally getting updates and commenting on the action.

I enjoyed it when it came out but after rewatching it recently and thinking on it some more, The Batman is just "okay".

The good: Cinematography. Performances. Gotham. Score/Soundtrack. Tone.

The bad: Plot. Batman/Catwoman relationship. The Riddler. Alfred. Third act. Pacing.

Overall, it's pretty derivative and the plot/detective mystery isn't really engaging enough so it's more plodding than it is a 'slow burn'.

Personally my favourite film by Paul Thomas Anderson, the only Lebowski inspired film which I think comes close to the quality of the original whilst having a lot of style of its own.

I thought Terrence Howard’s Rhodes had better chemistry with Tony Stark than Don Cheddle’s Rhodes.

I like Ed Norton’s Bruce Banner better than Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner. The way Norton acts is how I picture Bruce Banner when I read the comics.

It's my favorite Robin Williams performance. Sy is a very psychologically damaged guy, but I had great sympathy for him, too. Williams truly was a great dramatic actor.

Another mystery: why was there never a blu-ray release?

Maybe because it flopped big time. And it gets shown on free to view TV a lot. Possibly one of the last movies that will have found an audience by that route. I can only guess that revenue from those broadcasts were steady enough to feel it was too risky to manufacture discs that might not sell well but still discourage networks from showing it. Just my wild and ill informed guess.

I doubt that's the reason, many bombs made it to blu ray and even 4k.
