Lol. I'd have it in the exact opposite order.

Need to revisit Mystery Men, though.

  3. Christopher Nolan has a solitary movie in his repertoire that's worth a damn (Interstellar) - I loathed Interstellar, but loved Memento, Batman Begins and The Prestige. I also liked Inception, TDKR, TDK and Insomnia.
  4. Revenge of the Sith is the best Star Wars movie - Sith is garbage, but it is the best of the prequels.
  5. A Quiet Place is garbage - No, just no.
  6. Blade Runner is a horrible movie while its successor is better in every single way - I don't like either of the BR movies, but I will say that 2049 was slightly better.
  7. Godfather Part III is better than Part II -
  8. Roger Ebert destroyed film criticism - I could take or leave him.
See above in red.

This is the unpopular opinion thread, nothing unpopular about that opinion.

  3. Christopher Nolan has a solitary movie in his repertoire that's worth a damn (Interstellar) - Loved Interstellar, but I also adore his entire catalogue
  4. Revenge of the Sith is the best Star Wars prequel - Fixed.
  5. A Quiet Place is garbage - Ehhh...
  6. Blade Runner is a horrible movie while its successor is better in every single way - Both are INCREDIBLE.

  7. Godfather Part III is better than Part II - NANI!?
  8. Roger Ebert destroyed film criticism - Couldn't care less about him. This is coming from the man who said video games can't be art.

Recently realized that quite a few people dislike Deadpool 2, so I'll go with a potential unpopular opinion and say I loved it.

More people that have seen it seem to like it than not like it, so it's not really an unpopular opinion, not even potential. Just look at the reception. 95% of Google's users liked it. Tomatometer on RT is at 84% now, audience score is 85%. It has 8,3/10 on IMDb. On Metacritic, the film has a weighted average score that is 66 out of 100, based on 50 critics, indicating "generally favorable reviews", as they call it. And look at the reception on this site too. I think these things say a lot.

Is it unpopular to say that Netflix is putting out better original content than most big studios these days?

Not really. A lot of people have said the same thing and many have praised a lot of the original content on Netflix.

The majority is usually hysterically praising whatever original content Netflix releases, but better than most big studios? I have my doubts.

Marvel isn't destroying cinema but I'm certainly not a fan of the cinematic universe methodology.

David Fincher is the man.

I get a feeling that you are just saying that because you don't agree with a lot of them.

Even if I myself don't agree with a lot of things here, I don't think most of it is trolling.

David Fincher has lost "it" unless he hits a purple patch in his '50s and '60s. Admittedly, Fincher on auto-pilot is head and shoulders above most of his contemporaries.

While I don't consider all of their original content to be superior, I think a lot of it tends to be far riskier and more interesting than a lot of stuff the big studios put out these days.

Their TV series and documentaries are easily their best material though. Their original movies...hit or miss.

It's the hyperbolic statements that set off my BS meter tbh.
