The irony here is that this is the only streaming service that I actually pay for as I am an Amazon Prime member (for the fast shipping perk).
I hate the way the Prime layout looks. It’s hard to find things. It’s just ugly to me. Content is fine. In my opinion it needs a facelift.

I can tolerate Amazon's clunky user interface, but the inconsistent image quality is hard to forgive. I would rather the image be consistently of a lower quality than to fluctuate all over the place.

You open plan like me?

Yeah, my view is of the hot neighbour across the street. She is always out trimming her bush.

My sister asked how I liked living in a house after being a life-long apartment dweller. Very high on my list of plusses was not having to take the pots and pans out of the oven before making a frozen pizza

Created a PDF (here) with pixels that alternate between on and off for 55, 65, 75 and 85 inch (dia) TV’s. On the right side of the graphic there is one pixel for 3840 (left) and one for 1920 (right) for each display size. At minimum, you need a printer that can print at 1200 dots per inch. I tried 600 dpi but the separation is not acceptable, 1200 dpi produces good results.

Print, light well then step back to see the effect of screen size vs pixel definition and distance. Same for 3840 vs 1920.

Make sure you print actual size. There is a 254 mm (10 inch) width between the border you can measure.

The file host is freebie so it may make you wait to download.

Are you sure it's not your internet? Because my Virgin internet is playing up every day lately and my TV's keep disconnecting from the Wi-Fi.

In the past when I watched Amazon Prime (no longer a member) I never had an issue with it. The picture was crystal clear and it had excellent 4K HDR on things like Marvellous Mrs Maisel. I'm not a fan of the interface, it was even worse before. Apple's is so much better.

If my internet service was the problem, I would be having problems with all streaming services, not just one. I also have no problems playing online video games that require a fast and steady connection. My typical download speeds are 235 Mbps, which is way more than adequate for 4K streaming.

To be clear, my issues with Amazon streaming do not occur every time, just some of the time. If I were to guess, maybe it has something do with Amazon not having servers sprinkled around the country every 10 feet like Netflix does? I live in a rural area and maybe Amazon's nearest server to me is on the moon? Just guessing really, but I do not have any similar problems streaming with any of the other providers. A pity as Amazon does offer some interesting things to watch that I would like to see, but not necessarily to own.

My floor plan is kinda semi-open; I can sorta see the TV from the kitchen.

Unlike you, I do not have any especially attractive neighbors doing gardening work to observe from any window.

For some content Netflix has the same problem. Recently started a show and it looked bad with a speed of about 2 Mbps, stopped and went to the Netflix check servers test and it showed about 187 Mbps. Restarted the show (a UHD one) and it would never get above 2 Mbps. Picked another UHD show and it made 15.25 Mbps only after about 25 seconds.

I have had similar problems with Amazon, one show would make UHD after several seconds and another one would never make 1080 or 1080p.

Netflix, although currently is not as good as usual, is still better than Amazon Prime. This is not just me. My dad, my brother and my cousin all always have “problem” with a much lower picture quality from Amazon Prime even during “regular” times.

I mostly watch Amazon Prime for the B horror flicks. Besides that, the Canadian selection is abysmal.

Well you guys know how I'm Wired, and I have no problems with any Provider including Amazon Prime. Vilya is also Hard Wired, and using the Sony Android Apps right? So either there are drops in his Coax Internet Provider, or poor connection to the Amazon Prime Server.

Did a search for "amazon streaming problems" and got this number: About 111,000,000 results (0.60 seconds). It appears others have had/have problems with Amazon. But then again that is true of all streamers.

Yes, both of my TVs are hard wired with Cat7 ethernet cable, not that that matters any. I use the internal streaming apps on both the LG and the Sony TV. My internet is fiber to the home with copper wiring within the home itself. And again, the only streaming provider that gives me any issues is Amazon, so it is pretty clear that Amazon is the problem.

Calling Amazon's tech support is beyond futile as their boilerplate response every single time to all of this is to blame my ISP. I am more than happy to blame my ISP when warranted, but when I can stream consistently well with every single other provider as well as game online, then the problem is with Amazon.

Same here. The only problem is with Amazon Prime. And the other three family members use different ISP and live in different parts of Toronto are ALL having the exact problem... with Amazon Prime ONLY.

Some people's learning disabilities have learning disabilities. I already know which thread; he was making friends by the bushel over there.
