I doubt that past 1,928 pages of discussion have actually accomplished anything. But plenty of us keep coming back. The only possible explanation is that we're all argumentative stubborn jackasses.

By that logic anyone who rents or borrows a disc would not have a license to access the content on the disc and would therefore be committing a crime by watching it.

For the mystery fans amongst us, I just watched The Dry with Eric Bana and really liked it. Very well executed from a writing, acting, and cinematography standpoint. Nothing to show off a system with, but I am happy as hell I blind bought it.

Renting conveys a license, too. Lending a disc to family and friends is covered by the purchaser's or the renter's license. Public exhibition is about the only thing that you can't do when it comes to playing a disc. Back-ups are for personal use. Stop trying to revive an argument that goes nowhere before we both get banned. Anthony will revive it this weekend, anyway, as that's the only time that he has to post here. How about we give everyone a rest from our BS at least until then? Last edited by Vilya; 09-20-2022 at 05:39 AM. |

Crawl is something that I would have to see before buying. A woman trapped in a house with gators doesn't immediately grab me.
![]() The Dry looks like it could be juicy, but it's another title that I would have to see first. Last edited by Vilya; 09-20-2022 at 06:05 AM. |

Your idea of a permanent license for purchasers is absurd and you clearly pulled it out of thin air. I never thought that you would believe in something so ridiculous. Last edited by PenguinInfinity; 09-20-2022 at 07:41 AM. |

Millions ripped their CDs to MP3 when the Iriver (and later IPod) came out. They then sold the CDS. Same thing. The only issue I have is with people who pirate films directly without paying a dime. Those that buy a film then sell it after making a copy are not the problem imo. I mean, who goes through life sticking to the letter of the law? Film fans who buy discs in the first place can do what they like for me. They are supporting the industry. |

Barely. I suspect the vast majority who buy, rip, and sell are buying used copies. And since they aren't keeping the discs they aren't reducing the number of copies in circulation (which would cause more new copies to be made and sold).

In terms of replay value, ... Ive already seen it lots of times. ![]() I tend to say "Shark vs Bikini Girl" is my favorite genre. Maybe I just like monster movies. |
