Guys, for some reason, my TV hasn't gotten any updates to the firmware. I'm not even able to play at 120hz. I tried downloading the new firmware from the website and for some reason, I can't get it on to a usb. When I plug the usb into the tv, the update file isn't there. It's driving me crazy! What am I doing wrong? any help would be greatly appreciated!

Plug it into a different usb port, you need to extract the zip one time

Thats F'd UP! For those who spent serious dough to enjoy the latest in technology! I was actually looking at the new Denon's and haven't made my mind up yet which of the new consoles to get as I knew there would be problems. When both consoles said they would not include DV or DA for 4K blu ray playback. That was the deciding factor. Who knows what future updates will hold. I personally want an all black PS5 so waiting I must!

Thanks for the response. I tried plugging it into both usb ports of the tv. I've tried five different flash drives, no luck. Whenever I plug the drive into either of the usb ports, it displays the contents of the flash drive as "no files found'. It's driving me absolutely crazy because i want to play the xbox series x in full 120hz and I can't. My tv isn't even showing dolby vision as an option. Thanks for answering, though, i appreciate it.

I don't know why sony just hasn't sent me the firmware update yet.

Did you use the Settings button on the remote and then look for the section "Bravia notifications"? The update could be there waiting to be downloaded.
HOWEVER, if you read the problems I encountered on previous pages with the downloads, you will see I DO NOT think anyone should download the updates. I had to replace the TV with the same model, but this time I did not okay any downloads, nor other items connecting to other company links...and I have not had any of the troubles with the new TV.

Thx for the response! The TV is my son's to play the new video game systems and the update gives him 120hz and dolby vision, so he needs the update to get the total experience. So i need to get the update. Thx again for answering.

Bladerunner5375,

Happy Thanksgiving. Did you ever get your TV updated with the new firmware just posted on Sony's website?

Happy Thanksgiving, my friend! Unfortunately, no, I haven't been able to do the update. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. At first I thought it was just my son's tv, but then my older son got the same tv for himself and i tried the update there as well, with no luck. I've been through five usb sticks. It's driving me absolutely INSANE. Both tv's do the same thing: they recognize the usb stick, give me the option to open it, and when i do , it shows no files inside. It's driving me NUTS! LOL. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry your having trouble getting your sons TVs updated. Let me walk you through what I did. I'm using my PC to put the file on a flash drive. If you are using a mac I have included a YouTube video link at the end for the procedure.

First download the file to your computer. I assume your in the U.S. If not you'll need a different file.

https://www.sony.com/electronics/sup...loads/00017089

Next you want to extract the file to your computer. I use WinRAR. This will leave you with a folder called sony_atvotafull_2020_1600414100_naa_auth. Inside that folder is another zip file called sony_dtv0FA80A0CA0AC_00004300_16004141000055.zip. This zip file is what you want to use to update your TV's.

Get yourself one of your thumb drives. I used a USB 2.0 4GB drive. Next you want to do a quick format on the drive and set the file system to Fat32. After that is done copy or drag and drop the Zip file to the drive.

Lastly just plug the thumb drive into one of your TV's USB ports. I used the USB 2.0 port. It should immediately detect the drive and start the update process. Let me know if that works for you.

Here's the video I found on YouTube for using a mac to update.

here is my experience so far with the latest firmware update (v6.0414)

again, forced the update. so far, HDMI switch via AVR seems on point between xbox one & appleTV. my current xbox does NOT have 4k gaming! Dolby Vision still working great, no AV sync issues within the first 45minutes or so. also, my AVR is set in standard mode with the test I just preformed.

with my AVR switched to Enhanced results are identical. both test were preformed on HDMI 3(eARC) with Enhanced selected.

so far im very pleased with the update ATM, im sure issues will arise. im almost positive ill have an AVR issue which ill have to switch back to standard. my AVR is affected with the faulty 2.1 chipset. tv performance, is night and day difference.

EDIT//

seems like im experiencing AV sync with HDR10 content via AppleTV Prime Video app.
watched same video using the TV app and AV sync issue is gone. again, still these issues could be related to my AVR issues

I'm starting to think SMART TVs aren't so smart if so many of these firmware updates just create more issues.

So latest firmware has resolved all of my issues. TV no longer reboots like it once did at random.

Sony XH90/ X900H Best Settings for PS5 & Xbox Series X Gaming

We go through our recommended best settings on the Sony XH90 (also marketed as the BRAVIA X900H in the USA) 4K LED LCD TV to obtain the highest picture quality (up to 4K@120Hz) while maintaining low input lag when playing games on the PS5 (Playstation 5) or Xbox Series X next-gen consoles.

The XH9005 unit we used in this video is the 55-inch Sony KD-55XH9005 (model number KD55XH9005BU).

My son has the 65" x900h with a PS5 hooked up to it via HDMI #3 and using an older vizio soundbar connected via optical . every so often he turns everything on to play and he has NO SOUND. I have to reset the tv and then sound comes back. Anyone else have this issue?
