Got through the prologue and sorted into Gryffindor. Enjoying it so far. Looks amazing. Looking forward to playing again in 3 weeks when I return from tomorrow's business trip to the States.

Nothing against Nintendo but call me when they start developing games at anywhere near the scale, scope, and graphical complexity that most of the modern AAA games have. Not saying their games arent fun but its probably a bit easier to release bug free games when they are inherently designed with simpler graphical styles that do not push hardware performance.

Sweet Baby Jesus, that's a lotta hours! I too have a C1 but it's not that old. I think I have like ~700 hours but it's not my daily watcher.

Yeah, Sony can be hit-and-miss but I typically feel like I'll be getting a finished and complete game if I pre-order something from Naughty Dog, Insomniac, or Santa Monica Studio.

You never returned my call from years ago! Breath of the Wild and the Xenoblade games are already there in terms of scale and scope. Obviously those games don't have the "graphical complexity" of most AAA games that come out today that need 6-12 months worth of patches to run properly, but the trade-off is that they got those games running as well as they do on a portable system day-and-date with release. I doubt there are more than a handful of studios in the world (and again most of them are probably internal Sony studios) that could even get something like Mario Odyssey to look and run as well as it does on the ancient Switch tech.

That said, I do often wonder what a 1st party Nintendo game would be like if it took full advantage of a system like the PS5 or Series X. But my guess is that they would look great and run circles around most modern games in terms of game/level design without having nearly as much bloat and overly busy visuals. Hopefully some day we will find out.

I think it’s cool you can plug your Pottermore house status into the game. I’m Slytherin after the Pottermore test. I’ve come to accept that now even though I feel Hufflepuff at heart (hard working and loyal). Merlin was a Slytherin so the house can’t be that bad.

Seems like the Wizarding World site is getting a lot of activity since I keep getting server errors while trying to set up a profile and do the various tests. The game's release must be increasing traffic.

I played about three hours last night and I LOVE it. I've been running it at fidelity and it actually feels really good. Looks beautiful too. Haptics feel great to me. I just had a big doofy grin for most of it. It's the game I always wanted when I was 12.

I'm going to bet it won't have any major technical issues. WB has had an awesome track record for quality, polished games. Arkham games, Mordor games, etc. I was able to complete them without ever needing an update. Almost zero crashes.

No chance of that with this being an MMO. Problems and new MMO games go hand in hand imo, no studio has ever released one without a host of initial issues to iron out.

I did the same amount last night, except I got sorted into Ravenclaw. Enjoyed it quite a bit so far.

Have played for about 3 1/2 hours. Spent about 90 mins of that exploring the slytherin common room. I’m going to spend so much time with this game. It’s exactly what it should be so far. I love it.

I'm really wishing Sony made a more portable PS5. It's going to be a long three weeks after having gotten a taste of Hogwarts Legacy and then not being able to play it again until I return from my trip.
