Warner Bros Friday the 13th 4K UHD (1980)

Link removed. But the 4K Blu-ray is still welcome.

Nope. I'll take any of them that happen to come. From any horror series I like. That's the only way more can possibly come is if you actually support them showing the good faith of offering the first on the format! When the current climate is companies can't afford the cost/benefit risk of investing in a whole set, or when they don't own the license to all them in the first place to deliver anyones pipe dream.

Just the US and Canada only, Warner Bros own international rights to this film (like the reversed way around for the 2009 film).

Nah, not waiting on a box set. I think that's what's happening with the GoT boxset. Maybe HBO thought there wasn't enough interest. I like to purchase the UHDs I'm interested in on release day, so that they could keep on making them and release other catalog titles.

Edit: I just hope it's not the remake :/

I'm not even going to pretend I can wait for a potential boxset. This is going to be a day one buy and should a boxset arrive, then that will be a day one buy too.

Had the Paramount BR which i thought looked very nice.

Sadly, the film hasn’t aged well, imo. Was laughing through most of it.

I wouldn't consider 1-5 to be campy though.

Oh, why not:

1. Part III
2. Part I
3. The Final Chapter
4. A New Beginning
5. Part 2
6. Jason Lives
7. The New Blood
8. FvJ

9. Remake

Manhattan, JGTH and X don't excist to me.

I dunno, I'd say Friday the 13th movies are about as campy as they come. Part 1 with the whole "kill her mommy!" thing that Mrs. Voorhees goes on with reeks of campiness.

That being said, the campiness of these movies is what really saves them in the end. They're utterly ridiculous but at the same time they don't take themselves as seriously as say, the Halloween series and I think that makes the Friday movies way more fun.

I hope this is the 1980 version coming to UHD. And since it's Warner releasing it, it'll most certainly be the uncut version, not a doubt in my mind, since Warner has only released the uncut version since it came out on DVD. I don't think we're ever gonna see the R-rated cut on home video again. And I'm fine with that. The only downside is the uncut version of Jack's death looks pretty fake. But regardless, we'll be getting the uncut version. Absolutely.

And in regards to the framing, I don't think there's anything wrong with the current version. In fact, I actually think the older Paramount DVDs were incorrectly framed and showed too much room. The 1999 DVD was a hybrid cut of the unrated/R-rated versions as well so I wouldn't use that as a reference to how the film is supposed to be framed, the Paramount DVD was likely wrong.

Question is, will it be the European Uncut version or the r-rated print and if Uncut will they fix the aspect ratio zoom of the blu-ray.
