Warner Bros They Shall Not Grow Old (2018) No 3D Blu-ray

Moderator note: Though the film was converted to 3D and released that way in cinemas, it has so far only been released flat on disc. There has been no 3D Blu-ray release of this film anywhere in the world and sadly there is no indication that there ever will be one.

Original post:
Peter Jackson has made a 3D colorized documentary comprised of real World War 1 footage. The link to the story is here:

That's not the same movie. It's from 2015.

Hopefully this will make it to 3D blu ray... sadly, most of the news reports about this failed to even mention 3D, just talking about how the old footage was made sharper when it's the 3D that's really going to bring this bit of history alive.

That Tony Robinson WWW1 series is brilliant. It focuses on stereocards from the era, and the 3-D throughout is remarkable. I'm sure Jackson's new series will be next-level, though. Actual footage in 3-D and colourized! Count me in.

Joe, I heard that this disc only worked with active shutter glasses. Can you or anyone else shed any light on this?

I have the disc and have viewed it on a passive system and can assure you this is not the case.

Hi interdimensional,

Though Amazon lists it as all region, all other vendors carry region B only. Is yours all region?

Thanks.

Hey Joe 3D,

I have the UK version of Tony Robinson's World War I in 3D. It is Region-Free. I just checked it myself (Paul H had already confirmed this here: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/World...lu-ray/114338/ ). The disc itself and the back cover says Region B, as does AmazonUK, but that is not correct.

It's currently available on AmazonUK from a third party seller that ships to the US (CannyStore-com, $22.70 shipped).

Hi ilive

That was posted 16 months ago as a courtesy to let others know there was a previous world war one documentary in 3D. That was also posted months before the Jackson film was released.

Bringing this out to others is why I am allowed on here.

Yeah, Joe, why are you allowed on here?

Maybe it's because you know more about 3D movies than anyone I know.

Maybe it's because you are so damn nice.

Maybe it's because you don't come onto this part of the forum once every century and never hear from you again.

Maybe it's just because you are the ambassador of 3D good will to the world.

Maybe people who don't know their ass from a hole in the ground shouldn't ask stupid questions.

I am afraid to ask who "him" is, but I will. Who is "him"?

Hi wild Bill,

Ah, you're only saying that cause it's true.

No, seriously I am really touched by those words which also describes you and so many others of our close knit 3D cyber family. One is so reflective of the company one keeps.

Also want to thank all those giving me a thumbs up. As said, we're close knit and stand up for each other. That's why we can also have fun at the others expense for we know each other so well.

You were doing so well, and then you had to go and break your own rule.

Saw this (Peter Jackson)on the news the yesterday, and the 'after' footage looked amazing in 2D, should be eye popping in 3D.
