Yes, but considering Cameron didn’t even have the muscle to force a Blu-ray 3D release of T2 in the US, I wouldn’t hold your breath Joe.

Let’s hope anyway, this would make a thought provoking but enjoyable Blu-ray release. It won’t be the same watching it on broadcast tv.

Hi steedeel,

I hear ya.

Except that Jackson made this specifically for 3D whereas T2 was a reconversion of an old movie most home theater fans already had. But Cameron did force Titanic.

Who really knows but can't imagine this not at least being a region B 3D release. Ifv not available in region A, this will force me to buy an all region player.

It’s on broadcast tv on 11th November but I want to hang on to see if it gets that Blu-ray 3D release. I was looking forward to 3D Rarities 2 but that’s not getting released this year so this will fill s gap. Incredibly worthy content obviously.

Warner Bros Warner Bros Acquires ‘They Shall Not Grow Old’

Warner Bros. Pictures has acquired global distribution rights to They Shall Not Grow Old.

The chances of getting a 3D Blu-ray have dramatically increased with this news.
If nothing else, more people will get to see this at the theater.

The manner in which 3D appears instrumental to the impact, we know WB is going to have pressure from Peter Jackson to release it as produced. We have one powerful producer to bank on this time around.

Hope so Joe. This is about more than entertainment so I would expect so at least.

Post Fathom Events

For those of us here living in the USA, They Shall Not Grow Old will be in theaters on December 17 and 27 as a Fathom Events special. Screenings will be in 2D and 3D.

Fandango.com already has a good number of showtimes.

Peter Jackson has made a plea on his facebook page for people to make the effort to go see the 3D as that is his favourite version. Hopefully he can put some weight behind a 3D home release

Great work by all concerned in bringing to life the Great War, Here is my own 3D tribute video I did 4 years ago, restoring original real 3D stereoscopic photography, hope you like it.

I see the pre-order of UK BD was already up but no mention of 3D, anxiously waiting for 3D BD confirmation...

2D only edition: https://www.amazon.co.uk/They-Shall-.../dp/B07KJVS46G

It's never promising when pre-orders go up in every format except 3D.

That's unfortunately the point at which the thread title changes to "No 3D Blu-ray" and my one-star "No 3D = NO SALE!" review goes up on Amazon.

I'm hoping a 3D listing will appear later, or the blu-ray will simply include 3D by default, but I have to say it will be very very disappointing if Warners drop the ball on this one as it appears that they are doing.

Can't believe it after all the work done by Peter Jackson. Too bad we cannot see the back cover to see if there is mention of a 3D bonus feature

Maybe there will be more editions. Otherwise this is a slap in the face to all of us.
