Hi levcore,

Not me. This is an insult to Jackson and us.

Hope so.
It feels like the final nail in the coffin. Shame on all concerned.

Hi Steed,

If so, we still have our large collections, the occasional monthly release and, of couse, each other!

It is a shame we won't see this but Warners are still bringing us Aquaman in 3D so this isn't the final anything - I guess they just figured nobody cares about 3D documentaries, or maybe just this one in 3D or maybe they thought people will be put off this by 3D or who knows what they were thinking frankly... make a quick buck probably.

Have you seen a verified listing for AQUAMAN on 3D Blu-ray? I know it will show in 3D at select theaters, but I haven't read any news of a 3D home video version.

TSNGO by its very nature is already aimed at a relatively small audience, so I doubt Warner is seeing dancing dollar signs as they prepare it for home viewing. But I can only imagine that releasing a 3D disc of a special interest documentary would help sales, not hurt them.

The studio must not have any faith in the project beyond what Peter Jackson's name might add. If not for this forum I would never have heard of the movie. Now that I do know of its existence Warner has talked me out of owning it with their obtuse corner-cutting.

For shame, WHV!

It got a lot of coverage in the U.K and the 3D was mentioned a lot in the press release and in general. To rob viewers of the version that Jackson intended us to see is (in my opinion) bordering on a disgrace.

Check the Aquaman thread. The first post will be updated as listings are confirmed, so far it can be pre-ordered from Amazon.de

The studio will have a lot of faith in this very well reviewed documentary. They have just chosen not to release a 3D blu ray for what they believe will be a very niche market.

Hi levcore,

Do you think they would lose money packing it with the bluray, 4K edition and charging a dollar more overall?

If it would make them money then they’d do it.

It will be a real shame if we don't get to see all that work and loving care on our home screens.

Just bought tickets for December 17th. We have 2 3D showings at our local cinema. One is sold out already and the second looks like it will be by Monday.

Hi levcore,

Neither have I. But my own uneducated guess is it would not have a drastic effect on their profits. Not if 3D was part of the package. Don't think people would not buy any particular 4K Blu-ray because they didn't need the 3D. Just produce one DVD package, a single and one multi format Blu-ray edition.
