The price refuses to budge on Amz.ca it seems so I'll wait a bit longer. I don't think there is much fear of Vol- 4 selling out anytime soon.

Yeah, I have it preordered. Truth be told, I finally got around to reading the third book last night.

I've read the first book but got side tracked and need to dedicate some time to getting back into it.
Truth be told, I do of course worry that as the series progresses, they sell less and less and have second thoughts on proceeding with Hard-cover editions.
I sincerely hope they stay committed but this is not a series I can fully recommend to my casual friends, especially those who have never heard of it, heh.

Not yet, but I have Berserk vol. 1-4. I'll probably wait for Hellsing and pick it up in store. I order a lot of comics online, but I usually prefer picking the big books in store. Packaging from Amazon or Indigo are not the best and I would hate having a damaged corner on these beauties!

I've been pretty fortunate with the Berserk vols arriving from Amz.ca, as they've been putting them in a snug box with sufficient padding.
That of course can change at any time, depending on the person (1 of thousands) putting your selection in a box.

Btw, I think I've thanked you previously for your outstanding "Lovecraft" thread but if not...MANY THANKS!
I cruise by on occasion to see what other fliks on your great listings I need to pick up (for books/stories, I'm pretty fat... ).

Can't wait for volume 5. I've purposely held off on rereading the series until then since that finishes the Golden Age arc.

Did you guys see Hellsing and Blade of the Immortal is getting a Deluxe Edition as well?

Indeed, great series so far (1st time reading them) and very much looking forward to the rest.
I mentioned the "Hellsing" edition also coming from Dark Horse in the "New Manga" thread (also pre-ordered) but did not know about "Blade Of The Immortal" ! Thanks for the heads up!

So placed an order for both Berserk Vol-4 and Vol-5 today.

Only one week to go for Hellsing Vol-1 !

Looks like Blade Of The Immortal Vol-1 is scheduled for a 20 Oct release.

Oof! That reminds me I need to get Berserk vol. 4 and 5. Did anyone ever buy those ridiculous bookends? I'm tempted to pre-order them, but $200 is a little steep for something I'm not sure where I'll even display them.

I received volume five today. Them bookends look absolutely amazing, but they are a bit too rich for my blood.

Yeah, they are a tad pricey, gorgeous but then, so are the books
Considering the footprint these Vols are gonna have, I think we figured it out to what 18 Vols? That's at least four feet of leather side by each, heh.

I really appreciate my brand of bookcases for big and heavy vols like this.
Glad I bought them about 20 years ago though, as they are stupid priced right now.
They are made by STAR and each shelf is (in my case) dark cherry veneer on 1 inch thick composite honeycomb board.
These will never bow in the middle from weight.
I have 14 cases, which are 72" high each.

Heh, I noticed that Dark Horse Direct priced those bookends 1 penny cheaper than their "Payment Plan" option.
Not sure I'd use that anyway but for some it would probably be nice.

They weigh a bloody 25 lbs! So my shipping would equal original price, heh.
I may talk with my Comic& Figure Dealership friend though...
He orders from Dark Horse frequently, so he could possibly even swing a deal.
His shipping would be a lot less than mine I believe.

I'm tempted to buy the single volumes for 22 onward. I completed Deluxe Volume 7 last night before the news broke.

I'm still in shock, I was on Reddit and learned about this only few minutes ago. This is such a heartbreak news, not only because we won't see the end of Berserk, but because he was such an amazing artist. He'll be missed for sure, but always remembered.

I have the Deluxe 1-7, and the Official Guidebook. Looks like the Deluxe run will end with Volume 14 with Tankōbons 40-41 (Chapters #351-363), and will probably have extra material to make-up for the smaller size.

p.s.s. I've been getting into "Call of Cthulhu" as of late ( reading more than playing) and have picked up the following so far;

- Investigator's Handbook (HC)
- Keeper's Guide (HC)
- Malleus Monstrorum (2 vol HC in Slipcase): lists all the beasties & deities
- Keeper Screen Pack (with 2 modules in it)
- Figure of Shub-Niggurath
