correct. Just like Pan's Labyrinth the movie will only have spanish dialogue.

Yes, it's Spanish. It may also have an English dub. But dubs are terrible, use the english subtitles it has.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to have to pass on this movie thou. I don't want to have to read subtitles while watching a movie.

To be honest I've never watched a japanese flick. I dunno I just don't want to have to read during movies. I know its lazy or whatever, but I want a movie I can understand with out subtitles.

I watched Run Lola Run with the original German anguage track, and really enjoyed it. I always prefer to hear films with the original voices of the actors. But everyone has different preferences.

call me an elitist snob but I'm loving these films that only come out in their original native dialogue and have subs only for other languages. Personally I think all movies should be that way worldwide. A mandated lossless native audio track and a ton of subs.

agreed, plus if the movie is good then within 5 minutes you forget your even reading. Tell no one (Ne le dis personne) is one of my favorite movies and when I think about that movie I never remember that it was in french and I had to read subtitles.

The orphanage is very good, I would recommend it and its a good film to give subtitles a try so rent it and you may be swayed.

I had only heard the name and that it was spanish until this thread. Went and did some research on it and it looks fantastic. Especially with Del Toro as the producer and "mentor" to the director.

Well said. Some people may never know where some American classics came from and it's sad. I'm speaking of Yojimbo, Sanjuro, and the mighty Seven Samurai, among others.

You're gonna miss out on a great movie then.
Some of the best movies have been in different languages with english subtitles.
Pan's Labyrinth
La Femme Kikita
Brotherhood of the Wolf

You should give it a try. You won't regret it.

This film is a must buy, a brilliant ghost story with some VERY scary moments. A UK film critic called this film one of the most rewardingly chilling ghost stories he had seen in a long time and I totally agree!

Agreed, there are so many great foreign language films out there! They are remaking the orphanage for a US audience, but I'd wager it isnt a tenth of the experience of the original.

I just put the finishing touches on my review for THE ORPHANAGE Blu-ray and it saddens me to hear that someone would shun this great movie simply because they would have to "read it".
