Can anyone confirm that the UK release has the same extra's as the US release?

Yep, same extras. Those 2 documentaries are about 90 minutes apiece

It's a great release of a (surprisingly by this stage, I'll be honest) great film. Smith's disc intro, stating that physical sales of Jay And Silent Bob Reboot essentially funded this film, does illustrate quite vividly what the streaming world has stolen from us (while offering a little hope.)

Incidentally, was I the only person not to notice that J&SBR got a DVD-only bonus disc called 'Magnum Dopus' which had its own dedicated release? Includes a 90 minute documentary and everything conspicuously missing from the regular release. Didn't love that film so much but bought the bonus DVD and looking forward.

Actually quite shocking just how much of Smith's work is unavailable these days. I have all his proper films except Yoga Hosers* on Bluray, but it's assembled from releases in five different countries and some of them are OOP and going for insane prices. I also recently had to rebuy the Clerks cartoon on DVD as my original rotted.

*intentional decision, obviously, yet I note with some interest that it is now OOP in every country - did he have it yanked from distribution?

I have a vague recollection that the post-production on Magnum Dopus wasn't completely finished when Reboot's Blu-ray release was due, hence it not being included & only getting a separate release later. Great documentary though.

IIRC, it also came at a time when he would do an episode of one of his many podcasts (which you had to hunt down) instead of a commentary track, which is why there isn't one on the disc.

FWIW I am very happy to buy decent companion documentaries as standalone releases generally, if it helps them to exist in the first place and aids the cause. We did in the VHS days, it was fine!

It's amusing though that that's actually the third time a Kevin Smith making of has appeared somewhere other than the release it was intended for, after Judge Not and Oh What A Lovely Tea Party.

Bumping this as I received and watched the Magnum Dopus disc, and although it is indeed a great documentary (with a generous extras package), it has two of the most colossal authoring faults I've ever seen on a commercial DVD - at around 1:06:00 it starts to loop one chapter like a stuck record (only escapable by fastforwarding), and the whole last minute or so, comprising the credits (including Matt Damon and Chris Hemsworth interviews) and the end of the commentary, are cut off and inaccessible from the disc structure.

I ripped the contents to investigate and unpick the disc authoring, and did actually find the missing last minute or so buried in the files as orphaned VOB material not referenced by the navigation, so was able to reconstruct, remux and rebuild everything from scratch and reauthor my own fixed version. Only took a few hours and I already had the software/practice I needed, but didn't expect that from a £20 outlay!!

Was this fault ever flagged up? It seems like the kind of thing that would normally mean a recall/repress.
