Tomino had issues with it and deemed it subpar, though he refuses to discuss the matter. The animation was noticeably inferior and erroneous in several sequences, likely due to farming out the work to studios that weren't working on the show to begin with and those sequences are very bad looking. It is being reworked into a new UC Gundam film, by one of the original MSG directors.

They posted recently that it was 'coming soon' on social. It's a bit out of the norm since Right Stuf will often ship Nozomi titles around a month before release date. Wouldn't be too heavy of a guess to say they're experience shipment delays like everyone else, but I assume they're still expecting it this month otherwise they would have warned us for a longer wait.

Sunrise and Legendary Pictures have premiered the first concept art for the live-action “Gundam” film which hails from “Kong: Skull Island” director Jordan Vogt-Roberts.

Vogt-Roberts produces and direct the Brian K. Vaughan-penned film which will be exclusive to Netflix. No release date was announced, but art was revealed as a part of the Netflix Festival Japan 2021 event.

I really hate how hollywood is taking anime. They're done ruining comics and are moving on to japanese properties. Brian k vaughn is awful. The godzilla/kong movies are bad summer flicks. I bet you these movies will completely avoid and lack the emotional depth of the series. It'll be big robot in space go boom.

Logically it makes sense for hollywood to want to get into anime/manga. It has gone mainstream and has gotten huge, probably bigger than ever. Everyone is getting in on it.

1st sign that Anime is becoming too mainstream is constant Live-Action adaptations.

2nd sign is when U.S. Politicians try to use Anime for their own Political benefit with a cringey parody video that is totally tasteless https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/int...-video/.179404

It’ll probably be for sale during Right Stuf’s Christmas sale.

I always found this to be amusing. The episode isn't that bad

RS usually has the Wing sets for around $37 each during birthday and holiday sales. Give it another couple of weeks and you can get the entire series for a little over $100.

Animation quality wise, it's really bad. When people post pics of bad Gundam images, most, if not all of them come from that episode. There's even one animation sequence where the Gundam leaves White Base with a beam rifle, then for two seconds, it's holding the bazooka, and then it's back to the beam rifle. Go to minute mark 19

The animation and such may be bad, but I don't think the episode itself is.
