Not surprising. It seems like everything on Netflix or HBO Max seems to be leaving.

I was reading an article about HBO Max purging all of its animated shows from it's service. Turns out HBO burned a lot of bridges by doing that just to save money. Cartoon Network is probably never gonna do business with them again and neither are the shows' executive producers.

Cartoon Network/Adult Swim/Boomerang/Cartoonito and HBO Max are all owned by Warner Brothers Discovery.

I compared the first episode and the volume was definitely better than the US Complete Collection. Second hand JP volumes are very cheap now.

A problem with the volumes is that some of the extras were released via BD-Live and afaik they're not accessible anymore. Not all of the extras made it to the US Complete Collection, like the subtitled audio commentaries. The BD-Live commentary tracks are included on the very expensive JP Complete Edition, but they apparently left out the English subtitles for the commentaries.

that's something that needs 2 watches because it's dense and fast. i can't say i fully understand what happened but i still liked it lol.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the story is beyond "GUNDAM BAD!", but there's a smidge of set-up there, before a lot of wham-bam. Based on what little we've seen, it seems to be another "Alternative Universe Gundam Series" that is a retelling of a previous one, which is the tried and true Gundam Formula that SUNRISE has used for nearly 30-years now.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island is scheduled to screen in select theaters on September 27th and the 28th. There will be both sub and dub showings.
