Right! Their physical output has primarily being DTV films of not the highest calibre, documentaries (like Lionesses which just came out on DVD, or Lancaster and Zappa) and the odd barebones Blu-ray like Minari and Pig, but many others like Beats, The Paper Tigers, JFK Revisited, Silent Night, Hunt have to rely on imports, while their DVD of The Princess was cancelled (it was released in Germany though). It’s a shame as I have quite a few Altitude titles like The Florida Project, Being Frank, Whitney, A Private War.

The Old Way, All The Beauty and The Bloodshed, Blue Jean are hitting cinemas/VOD next year, but no idea if they will get discs.

At least they managed to license Days of the Bagnold Summer to Anti-Worlds, who have also gone quiet in terms of Blu-rays.

I suppose they think a casual film watcher in the supermarket/HMV/Amazon are more likely to get Winnie the Pooh than a French film about murder, loss, cars and gender?

I was talking to my mum earlier about Jodie Foster & 'Panic Room' and I noted how it still doesn't have even a BD release, let alone a UHD. Some kind of rights and/or legal issue maybe?
Given all the names involved it's surprising; directed by David Fincher, with Jodie Foster, a young Kristen Stewart, Forest Whitaker & Jared Leto.

It’s been announced and unannounced for Blu-ray/UHD multiple times at this point!

I am excited to acquire Panic Room. It was supposed to be planned for release. So was Near Dark. The wait continues.

Doesn’t look like we’re getting The Menu, the Amazon listing looks dodgy and it’s only been submitted for VOD/Streaming on BBFC.

Q2 theatrical releases without an announced disc: Coppelia, Charli XCX: Alone Together, Murina, A Night of Knowing Nothing, Small Body, The Velvet Queen, Who Killed the KLF?, This Much I Know to be True, The Drover’s Wife, Eleven Days in May, Father Stu, Earwig

Q3 theatrical releases without an announced disc: The Princess, Eric Ravilious: Drawn to War, Ithaka, Laurent Garnier: Off the Record, Kurt Vonnegut: Unstuck in Time, Notre Dame on Fire, Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko, Blind Ambition, Eiffel, Fire of Love, Where is Anne Frank?, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Free Chol Soo Lee, My Old School, The Invitation, Queen of Glory, Free! The Final Stroke, The Territory, Long Way Back, The Retaliators, The Gold Machine, Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island, Hallelujah, Silent Land, Girls Girls Girls, Inu-Oh, Dio: Dreamers Never Die, Both Sides of the Blade

Q4 theatrical releases without an announced disc: The Gravedigger’s Wife, Utama, Nothing Compares, All that Breathes, After Blue, Neptune Frost, Call Jane, Barbarian, One Piece Film Red, Return to Dust, The Sparring Partner, A Bunch of Amateurs, Confess Fletch, Spirited, Nanny, Quintessential Quintuplets, Summering, A Love Song, The Infernal Machine, India Sweets and Spices, Three Minutes: A Lengthening, Neil Young: Harvest Time, The Oil Machine, Lingua Franca, Charlotte, The Silent Twins, Rimini, Anonymous Club, Eternal 831

Disney’s strategy makes no sense as The Menu is the widest Searchlight title ever and it’s still getting screenings.

Murina has been released in the US by Kino - Region A locked;

The Drover's Wife has been released in Australia - Region B friendly;

Father Stu has been released in the US by Sony and according to this site is Region B friendly;

Call Jane has been released in the US by Lionsgate. I have a copy sitting in a pile to be checked out. The box states Region A and knowling Lionsgate will be Region A locked;

The Velvet Queen is coming out on Blu Ray in the US late January from Oscilloscope Pictures - no conformation on Region but most of their titles tend to be region free;

Utama is released in 2 weeks in the US by Kino on Blu Ray. Can pretty much guarantee that it will be region locked A;

Both Side of the Blade has been released on Blu Ray in the US - more likely than not region locked;

Where is Anne Frank is coming on DVD only next month in Australia;

Eiffel only known English friendly release of the film is the Australian DVD;

Hallelujah (I'm assuming this is the Leonard Cohen doco) is on Blu Ray in the US from Sony. No details on region code.

A very sorry state of affairs indeed.

Looks like the American localisation of A Man Called Ove starring Tom Hanks as Otto will be released DVD only by Sony.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Man-Called-...dp/B0BRL1P5BN/

However I Wanna Dance with Somebody now has a BD preorder so I’m unsure.

Crimes of the Future being released DVD-only tomorrow...so our only hopes of that getting a UK Blu-ray remain in Second Sight's court?

I'm guessing they may also consider Chopper, Riders of Justice or Surge too (maybe Benediction but that'd be a bit of a gamble, not being a 'genre' film).

I'm not too fussed about Crimes of the Future as I can import the US UHD but Benediction...please, Second Sight, anyone, please, Benediction.

Must be the first DVD only Davies film since Of Time and the City - which at least has the excuse of being finished in SD!

This must be the first DVD only Cronenberg since… either the DVD era or his son Brandon directed Antiviral or he starred in Disappearance at Clifton Hill?

Being able to import the UHD before it even hit cinemas is also a good backup!

The Euphoria DVD set can be imported for £19 from Amazon.fr. A much better price than the UK set.

No UK cinema release date announced yet, but Gaumont’s French Blu-ray of Smoking Causes Coughing claims to include English subtitles.

Leonine will release Call Jane on Blu-ray in Germany in March.

Another Vertigo title, Nocebo, will be released on Blu-ray in France the same month by The Jokers.
