you should have gotten a full refund! I opted for a replacement & that still came with nothing so in the end they gave me a refund on both plus let me keep both copies instead of returning them!

I'm in Edinburgh for the fringe festival, and the local Fopp had 2 copies of Ran with the slip and art cards for £9.99. I took one but there's another still there for anyone in the area.

Ah sheesh, I thought I was doing well getting about a 50% refund! I'm happy enough with that anyway, maybe they wouldn't have given me a refund on both if I'd gotten a replacement like you? You got lucky anyway!

Went into HMV too specifically to see if they had a copy. I would've bough anyway but even better that they had one copy only and it was complete with slip and art cards.

Just watched it today, very happy with the PQ, don't notice any problem with its colour at all. Also watched some of the supplement which are really good, one of the best release of the year IMHO.

I watched it the other day as well. The colours are amazing, especially when you compare the before/after in the restoration featurette. Fantastic film, Lady Kaede...

, wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of her!

Was looking at ordering this from Amazon but it says its Amazon Prime exclusive.... what's that about, I can't order it at all because I don't have Prime?

Ah, the same nonsense that has now become a common practice at their US website.

Wait a few days if you can and the message will go away. I did the same while ordering the 3 Women Blu-ray.

Another option is to contact CS via Chat and ask them to add it to your order as it doesn't make sense for an overseas customer to purchase prime membership.

I see you are Australian but a heads up for any British readers, Ran is also £9.99 at HMV although you would need to buy something else for the free shipping as that needs a £10 spend otherwise it's £2. However it's same price in store and your local store will order in for you at same price if they don't have a copy on the shelves.

As UncleBuckWild says Amazon started this reserved for Prime members crap in the US a couple of years ago and has been done in UK for around a year. Seems to be applied to what appears to be a random selection of new releases and sale titles (this is what Ran falls in as the £9.99 Studio Canal sale is being supported by them for HMV and Fopp stores and obviously Amazon are taking a margin hit price matching so don't want to give a discount to all customers).

I finally bought an all-region Blu-ray player just so I can watch the restored Ran and the new Human Condition Trilogy from the UK (I'm in the US.) Took a quick look at both releases and they look fantastic.

Anywhere besides Amazon or Zavvi that ship to the U.S.? Amazon.uk has this for Prime members only and Zavvi is $25+ shipped.
