decided to order it on the american zavvi site for the free shipping. I could see the American one being a tad different or it might not have everything that the UK version has

I would expect the GKIDS NA Collector's Edition to be cheaper to order for US residents (the preorders for the Promare Collector's Edition GKIDS NA release are currently $46.09 on Amazon). Although GKIDS may be involved in the authoring of the Collector's Edition, it's not a 100% guarantee that the discs GKIDS authors for Anime Limited will be Region Free or Region A accessible (I have no interest in getting a region free BD player), although I understand that the UHD BD should be region free. As Anime Limited has region locked some of their releases (such as A Silent Voice), I am a bit hesitant to import the title.

The UK release will be region locked. Pretty much WWY is getting the same treatment as PROMARE with the difference being the 2K Blu-ray disc regions (so UK is B only, US is A only). 4K discs have no region.

1080p isn’t 2K.

The same way UHD isn’t actually 4K either.

My 4K only disc sold pretty fast so it's a cheap upgrade for me. Dont really want to risk the potential US version not coming out or being worse.

What's up with the site and this movie? One listing says "DUPLICATE WILL BE REMOVED" and I just had to revert the title of the film itself from "Weathering with You 4K."

That was a duplicate entry someone made without looking to see if it was already in the database. The "DUPLICATE WILL BE REMOVED" shows that it'll be deleted soon.

It appears that the UK Deluxe Edition is “sold out” for now on both the Zavvi US and UK sites. Preordered it yesterday thru the US site with free shipping. We should get information about the NA Collector’s Set release before Zavvi ships the UK Deluxe Edition.

Which is good, because if the US release is a copy of the UK one for the same price we can just cancel the UK one. I have my doubts though, even if the discs are the same I think the UK one will have more stuff.

Seems like (besides the region B normal blus) the UK version is still better since you get the shimmery slip case, the steelbook, and art cards, none of which seem to be in the SF release.

Eh? I mean it's $4 less than what I paid for the UK release, but less stuff overall. I'm sticking with my UK pre-order because of how limited it was (and that I woke up at 5:30 to get the f**ker, when I normally wake up at noon).

I'm fine with the Shout Factory Limited Eiditon. Already have the JP import steelbook so don't really need another one.

i decided to order both the Zavvi and the North America one since sometimes the the blu's from all the anime won't work with the top menu trick and since they all have different items, i can franken piece a very nice set together, like I did with the your name, UK collectors and the Japanese version

Preordered the Collector's Set on Shout Factory and put in a cancellation request for the UK Deluxe Edition. Then I don't have to worry about potential region locking issues, and returns/replacements should be easier with Shout Factory (rather than having to contact Anime Limited in the UK).

For the Collector's Edition of Princess Mononoke, I tweeted a error in the English dub cast listing in the book to GKIDS' Twitter. Shout Factory then posted a reply asking me to send them my info via PM. I then got a replacement book in the mail.

I'm happy we're getting the UHD released here; I really am. But it is just very annoying that the only way to get it is via the larger, more expensive collector's edition, which I do not want. With this film having so many release options, I fail to see why a standard UHD/Blu-ray copy is not an option.
