What is wrong with Kevin Smith? - Blu-ray Forum

Kevin Smith was in the new Die-Hard movie, which was that movie's only redeeming quality, and then my wife started watching some chick flick (that is a newer movie I guess, since she had been talking about it for awhile.... I don't know the name... I don't listen well

) and sure enough... Kevin Smith had a sizeable part (from what I watched... I couldn't keep watching, it was too painful) and he had a lot of face-time, and numerous lines.

Kevin Smith doesn't need the money, is he so bored he's jumping on smaller roles in crappy films??? WHY ?

Maybe to help finance a new "Clerks" or "Silent Bob" movies ?

It was probably a favor to Ben Affleck, because Jennifer Garner is in it.

Even if he does do some stupid roles, I still love his movies. Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back is great, along with all of his classics.

because he's not filthy rich, he likes to act, he has friends that like his acting, and it helps pay the bills between movies

Don't forget, a million dollar house in LA goes for the same as a $250,000 house goes for in much of the country

I'm assuming it was 'Catch and Release' -- my wife liked that movie a lot, and I didn't think Kevin did too badly in it.

It's not about the money for him.

He was talking about Catch and Release on SModcast . . . he said he wasn't too crazy about doing it, but a lot of his friends and family talked him into it. He was easily the best part of Catch and Release, as the rest of the movie was pretty blah. I'm looking forward to his new movie . . . should be out around October I think he said last.

Why is the title of the thread "What's wrong with Kevin Smith?" And what was bad about Die Hard? What DO you like, since most of the time your input on threads is always about how much you dislike everything? Like every single Transformers thread . . .

As with a lot of directors who also act they learn and grow as directors by taking some smaller rolls here and there. I'm all for it and think his future projects will benefit from it. I’m also secure enough to admit there are some good chick flicks out there. Good for Kevin Smith for having the balls to do it and expanding as a film maker.

I like a lot of different movies, including The first three Die Hards ( 1, and 3, being the best) And I like a lot of art-house films, and many other "classics" I think I've expressed my tastes in movies multiple times, without giving my "list"

I own maybe 1,200 movies on the various formats, and It's safe to say I like them all.

Yes, it's Zack and Miri. He's been talking about doing a horror movie called Red State for awhile now.
